Shimoda then I take it? If thats the case I will certainly be revising my predictions.

Who is Shimoda?

And I wonder what Anada Mikola could be doing that is more important to him than A1? Indonesia are stuffed without him as I don't think any other Indonesian drivers have driven outside Indonesia in recent years. There are none in Asian F3 or Asian F. BMW of note (no race winners anyway).

Mikola has a contractually binding F3 commitment this weekend - but will be back for the rest of the season

He is leading the LMES championship after wins at Spa 1000km and Nurburgring 1000km

He has also won pole at every event he has been to in the LMES and also has got the track & qualifying record at Mid Ohio.

Oh.......he also won the latest ALMS race at Leguna Seca

Great thing for him is that the A1GP car has the same Engine and Drive Train as the Zytek he drives so he should be right at home.........we'll have to see

Shimoda never struck me as anything special in single seaters - I wonder if he can carry on his recent success now everyone else will have the same equipment too?

I still wish Satoshi Motoyama would get an opportunity to drive.

With all his Formula Nippon titles Satoshi Motoyama certainly deserves an opportunity outside Japan.

Shimoda does seem to have a reasonable amount of European single seater experience, so it will be interesting to see how he goes.

Ananda Mikola's father is heavily involved in promoting the Indonesian segment of Asian F3 (which is expanding for next year) so does make sense that he could be tied up with that.

italiaracing.net is reporting that Italy will have three drivers on hand this weekend - Toccacelo, Raffaele Giammaria and Andrea Montermini. They don't know if the last two will actually run or not. Would be good to see Montermini back on the single-seater scene.
