Best crash helmet paint job
We have got the best livery thread going so how about this as something a bit different, without really wracking my brain i would say DeCesaris, Cheever, Giacomelli, Jarier, showing my age a bit with that selection i fear.

Marc Saurer's looked pretty nifty.
As did Perry McArthy's. And you can't forget Maricio Guegilman (Obviously spelled incorrect), but him + Lleyton House... |

Roberto Moreno's was simply brilliant.
I have a small replica of it and it sits atop my mantle piece with my car models |

I have never paid that much attention to helmets, but Senna's will always stay in my mind. Good helmet it was.

Best ever in F1? I always liked Rupert Keegan's, gold with white flashes. Also Emanuele Naspetti, patriotic but recognizable from a distance. I liked Moreno's as well which was meant to be a bird's wing; Phil Andrews in F3000 had a similar design in reverse (blue with yellow wing). Too many look the same nowadays - basically blue with the kamikaze bandanna (Button, Sato, Coulthard, Raikkonen &c) - in these days when helmets are hidden in cockpits they are very difficult to distinguish. |

I like Tiago Monteiro's helmet. A classic one is Gilles' helmet, and Perry McCarthy used a similar one. Not often you see black and red in a helmet.
You can't miss out on Jacques' helmet either - not many have pink on them. If it were for me, I'd ban any sponsor intrusion on the helmets. Take for example Marlboro with Felipe Massa's helmet. Massa has quite a distinct helmet but now his design is disrupted by a white band which in half of the grands prix will stay white (because of the tobacco ban). Same with Mild Seven. Alonso and Fisico's (and Jacques and Jarno before) helmets nearly look the same from the onboard camera. With sponsors using up about 30% of the most visible part of the helmet, it's even more difficult to tell them apart. |

As helmet designs have become more comlicated i have been drawn to some of the older, more clasic, simple designs.
Jackie Stewart Graham / Damon Hill Ronnie Peterson James Hunt Senna And as an off the wall choice Thackwells Big T |

Is it Darren Manning's that has Richard the Lionheart on horseback with the words 'Lionheart' underneath it? I remember thinking that looked very individual, that's why I liked it!
