Nordic should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Johnny Servoz-Gavin

Johnny Servoz-Gavin died in hospital in Grenoble on the 28th May

Johnny Servoz-Gavin, whos real name was Georges-Francis gave up racing in the late sixties after some amazing drives due to his belief he had an eye injury.

Instead of racing he toured the Med in a horse-drawn caravan for a while.

There is a very short tribute on page 11 of this week's Autosport.

Sad, that having survived motor racing, he should have died at the relatively young age of 64.

RIP, Johnny

Sad that he never fulfilled his potential in F1 either, he certainly had the talent even if it needed to be tamed a little. Who knows what he might have achieved had he stayed as Stewart's team mate. Having said that, if he had carried on he may never have got to see 64.....

There is a fine and thoughtful tribute by Nigel Roebuck in his Fifth Column in this week's Autosport.
