RSS on Fifth Gear

What did you think?

Wasn't bad, would have been good to see an interview or more footage with some of the regulars.

I have to agree with you, it wasn't bad. But then again the cameras were only there for Vicki, but it was nice to see the 'intro to rallycross' with the voice over from Vicki, Its just a shame the 'Big Boys' weren't there.

well phil, you were on it lots! apparently its repeated tonight at midnight.

and a bit of c5 blurb

"There are twenty or so cars, tearing across mud churning it up and making it more treacherous with every lap and as you might expect, this can make for some epic crashes."

What a shame!!! In fact i'm nearly in tears.Us "small boys "actually got some decent coverage at last.Although i agree it would have been nice to get a few interviews from some of drivers.I liked the fact VBH admitted to flicking the cutoff. It shows daft mistakes are made,i once forgot to refuel and ran out half way round.
Has anybody else made any daft errors they want to admit to? !!!!!!!!!!!!

Nittymaki has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Thought it was good coverage and Vicki and Fifth gear gave a good insight into the sport especially stockhatch.

First time since 2002 that RX has been on terrestrial tv so this should be congratulated.

The production was about Vicki in a stockhatch car, racing, was not meant to be about others, so interviews not needed. It was meant to act like a documentary following her progress throughout the dayand this was done well.

For once lets be positive, RX on terrestrial tv! Was good coverage for stockhatch drivers, about time they got some decent coverage.

And she will be back for more!

Well done Chris Cake, wehn are you off to Hollywood then??

Same one a VBH. In the old car the cut off was next to the wiper switch, I caught it several times. I always realised what I had done after a second or two, people thought I had missed a gear but I knew the real reason.
Needless to say in the new car the switches have been moved.

I asked a friend - who is a car enthusiast but has never seen rallycross - what he thought and he replied that he immediately started calculating how much it would cost for us to buy a 205

Now we're talking !!
Surely more coverage of the stockhatches and minicross races will make
people realise they can get involved without having to spend serious amounts of money.
To be honest even my wife is making noises about trying out the sport .She has followed my disapointments over the years but there does seem to be an influx of lady drivers at the moment and she is game for a do !!
To this extent we have been looking at ebay. There are starter cars available from £750 although they do seem to be unfinished projects with work required.
VBH was quoting £2500 for a stockhatch.mine only stands £1200 and does the job most of the time.I'm sure we can get one racing for not much more than that now !!

Tell your friend to bring a friend the more the better.

P.S
Watch this space as her in doors usually gets her way we might be hearing from "toymistress" next season

Dont be so hard on yourself .
There's no particular secrecy involved.
Generally i'm too loud to be a secret but i must admit i'm starting to enjoy
being the 007 Secret agent/spy in the camp.
Its fun !!!!!
See you at knockhill .
I'll be the one at scrutineering with a copy of MN on the dash
and a "Q" designed snap-on spanner in my top pocket.
Loaded & licensed to thrill !!!!!!!!!
