couldnt care less if any top names entered as its the clubmen that are the backbone of the rally that give us the entertainment
saying that its nice to see Jimmy out and he musn't of got a budget to run a Lepley Porsche this year |

He has taken over the car from William Stobart, which I think is one of Steve Perez's. It's a shame there are no big names this year but its the cars I am looking forward to seeing the Stratos (again) and the Lancia Fulvia (when was the last time of them was seen on the RAC?)

Roder Albert Clark Rally 2008
Hi all
I am a thread virgin so if this post isn't correct, hopefully it will get better with practice! Like most things !!!!!!! Now the real reason for this ...................... Having found out that a contract I had banked on is not now going to happen, I have emailed twice a nominated contact for the above event to see if I can volunteer for either the start or SS1 - SS4. So far no reply. If you are that person or can speak on behalf of the cheif marshal, please let me know through this site. Ta. |

Is it just me or does anybody else not like the Stobart livery on the MK2..? All the other Stobart cars look great even last years MK1, but the mk2 just doesn't work for me....!

Does look different Mark I agree, maybe its because of the "Sharp" angles of the MK2?

Maybe the whole car should've been 3 tone Green, but then again if it goes off into the Trees, then recovery would'nt be able to find it..!

Just back from Croft and Harrogate and what a finish to the event here are the final results:-
Roger Albert Clark Rally 1 Jimmy McRae Andy Richardson Ford Escort RS 1800 3:29:06 2 Gareth Lloyd Ryland James Ford Escort 0:01:50 3 Jeremy Easson Alun Cook Ford Escort RS 2000 0:01:58 4 Charlie Taylor Steve Bielby Ford Escort RS 1800 0:04:18 5 Philip Squires Michael Squires Ford Escort Mk2 RS 1800 0:05:20 6 Martin Freestone Joanne Oakey Ford Escort MkII 0:14:33 7 Geoffrey Crabtree Liz Jordan Ford Escort RS 1800 0:15:20 8 Ken Forster John Stanger Leathes Ford Escort Mexico 0:18:13 9 Rikki Proffitt Phill Harrison Ford Escort Mk1 RS1600 0:19:57 10 Robin Shuttleworth Mark Midgley Ford Escort Mexico 0:21:12 Now that doesn't tell the whole story, going into the final 2 stages Jeremy Easson was 19 seconds ahead of Jimmy McRae, but only on the last lap of the last stage Jeremy Easson suffered a broken throttle linkage. The Lancia Stratos finished 27:42 behind the winner. Roger Albert Clark Open Rally 1 Steve Bannister Kevin Rae Ford Escort Mk11 3:25:25 2 John Reid Frank Richer Ford Escort 0:15:06 3 Dave Hemingway Simon Ashton Ford Escort 0:25:29 4 Andy Madge Pat Cooper Toyota Corolla GT Coupe 0:26:08 5 Colin Barber Nigel Barber Vauxhall Astra Sport 0:27:07 6 Trevor Silcock Pam Silcock Vauxhall Astra GTE 16V 0:35:50 7 Mark Fowler Tom Jordan Opel Manta 400 0:38:35 8 Steve Blunt Robert Duck Peugeot 306 GTI 6 0:46:13 9 Gary Beckwith Lee Hudson Ford Escort Mk2 0:47:20 10 Steve Titmuss Geraint Lloyd-Williams Opel Manta 0:50:55 Photo's later |
