Monaco GP 2020 Thursday tickets
I'll be on a cruise that docks in Villefranche on Thursday 21st May, Monaco GP practice day. I intend to get the train into Monte Carlo. But what's the best option for tickets? Will they cost more on the day or am I better buying beforehand? I fancy getting tickets for Stand B, The Casino.

Casino seats are brilliant. I would buy in advance! Pick a front row!

Thursday at Monaco
Very important the ships do not dock in Villefrance but they tendering,,,so take the first one off the ship….the train ride is quick, having the tickets already in your hands make you save time. You will enjoy it !

think the walk from casino to the station is around 20 minutes. thursday is a great day to go, it’s not too busy and the trains aren’t too badly packed. |

Good choice! If you’re able, try to visit the track on Wednesday already, the pitlane is open and most drivers are walking around, best thing it’s free.

I've ordered Casino stand tickets from the Automobile Club De Monaco, does anyone know when they are sent out?

a sad ending to that story then.
way too many threads about the end of the world so may as well express this thought here. also its really about nothing in particular lol. i know at some point this will all end and everything will go back to normal, but i find myself wondering how long it will take me to be willing to buy things like tickets so far in advance of the actual date of the event. talking to people about their dealing with their insurance carrier, waiting for gov't to step in to declare emergencies, trying to get a hold of their airline to request changes, people stuck overseas and some who have been gone long enough they my lose their residency status. with all that to contend with, why would i ever buy things like this in advance? also over the past few years i, like many others, rely on the after market and 3rd party sellers for tickets. yes they are evil and usually you pay more but sometimes you pay less. couple of years back bought tickets for Roger Waters in support of his latest album (not the Wall tour) the moment they went on sale (well actually pre-sale) and paid $250 per ticket. at the concert sitting next to a couple who bought that morning and paid under $100 per ticket. of course its all a risk, but i suspect with ticket purchases this crisis may have permanently change my consumption habits. |

My instinct is the opposite. I'm going to go to EVERYTHING. I've got a little grid of events and the years I plan to go to them, alongside my annual trips. Now I've seen how quickly those sorts of carefully laid plans can vanish, I'm going to go to as much as I can afford, as soon as I can.

i never thought about it like this but interesting that we have two very divergent takes on the Carpe Diem philosophy seizing the day/making the most out of the time we have left. anyways, covid has clearly left me with way too much time on my hands! |

Perhaps in future there will be greater protections for these things. You would hope so.

We're pretty well served. I've had an email from Premier Inn who I use for business hotels, and they'll issue refunds on even "no refund" bookings. Hilton promised me the same when I cancelled for this weekend although I haven't seen it yet. But I expect they're a little busy!
We haven't had any news on our apartment rental for Monaco yet, bit we may try and keep that in case the airline's start flying again. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk |

So far I haven't lost any money at all on a raft of cancelled bookings. All hotels cancelled or moved for free, car hire cancelled for free, airport parking refunded, flights either refunded or moved for free, tickets either refunded or good for revised dates. I'm not even £1 down.

I'm much the same - my race club (CSCC) are refunding entries in full, most of my accommodation bookings are through booking.com and are refundable, some others are with Premier and they (as above) are being flexible, and Stena line that I'm booked to travel with to Holland are similarly offering changes or credits/refunds.
May have to husband some of this money saved to help out people whose livelihood is hit by this........ |

Sad day, no Monaco on the calendar if the season does happen. Maybe we won’t notice it’s absence, but I doubt, Monaco is more than just a GP, it’s a great occasion
