I can't see Jenson leaving Honda,in much the same way as I can't see Lewis leaving McLaren.

I know, but Jenson if offered a deal might just think to himself I have to jump ship it's now or never? and Lewis of course we know is going to stay there Alonso or no Alonso..

Nice, I'd be happy with Vettel at Mclaren. I think he has quite a future ahead of him

I don't think that we will see him at McLaren any time soon, but I guess that it could happen some day.

Button has become a journeyman driver, much in the same way though without the success of DC.
Vettel is an up and coming driver, I think it would be a brilliant move for McLaren, Mercedes and Hamilton to have another young driver in the team. |

Sure, Vettel has a future ahead of him, you'd have to be blind not to realise that, but stop jumping on the latest bandwagon!!! (Not you martyn, i'm refering to the article you linked us too!) |

Ron's being coy with the 'Nothing will decided till after the end of the season' line, but I think that its almost certain FA will not be driving for Mclaren next year. The words he came out with Shaghai seem to suggest the relationship Ron has favours Lewis, when he said that it didn't really matter if Kimi won the race, 'we' were racing Fernando. It'd be difficult for Alonso to stay next year so I think the expected move back to Renault is the most likely. Theres the outside bet of Toyota but how much money do they have to spend to get a competitive car?? Alonso could be the man to move them forwards but I guess we'll wait and see on that one. I heard a rumour of an outside bet of FA partnering Kimi at Ferrari but I doubt that'll turn out to be anymore than hear'say. But Kimi and Fernando at Ferrari would be awesome
As for Button. I think its unfair to say he doesn't deserve a seat with a team like Mclaren. He showed in 2004 how good he can be in a competitive car and I'm sure he could be a title contender. But like the ITV team said in commentary, the chance of having two British drivers would be slim as Mclarens European sponsors would prefer a continental driver. Vettel, he's shown signs of becoming a good driver, especially in adverse conditions like Fuji and Shanghai. BMW saw his potential and so did Torro Rosso. I think in a couple of years he'd be a decent prospect for someone like Mclaren but two young drivers in the same team could backfire. I think Alonso's role in developing the car this year has been one of the key reasons behind the teams resurgance, in the same way Renaults performances fell away this season. |
