Try using the curve tool to draw lines. a bit time consuming, but it works.

Hi,
good luck for yer own thread! As for these two designs. It's not really a problem that you're using Paint. The only small problem is that some of your corners could really do with some retouch. There are corners where a sztraight line seems to meet a curved one wthout any kind of transition. As for the laxouts. I like the first one. It flows well and you got straights, curves, easy and difficult parts - all's there. I'd econsider the tip of the middle part with those two hairpins, but the rest I really like! The second one seems also allright. Maybe, again, that hairpin... But that's not a problem, I'd say! Good ones, I'm looking forward to your next ones! bio PS: some data about the track are always welcome. Things, like track direction, tracke length, maybe the S/F straight's length or the location of the track. |

Paint is an excelent tool for tracks, just looks at some of my tracks, its easy to get them detailed But it does take some time to have good skill with it, you learn all the time. Anyway, Good start

Here is my third track - its a very simple one but i like the smoothness
![]() I have made a special effort for smoothed corners Its Clockwise, Length - 5 km, longest straight - 1 km , Start finish straight - 0.8 km Location wise im not sure but there is an elevation drop down to the last hairpin(bottom right) |

First track for a while
Clockwise i would guess at it being about the 4 km region with the shortcut being about 2.5 km. For some reason paint botched up the smoothness whilst saving I plan to do more now and maybe even experimenting with sketchup during the summer The hairpins have came out slightly tighter than intended |

That seems a great facility for some easy ride!
And your efforts show, be sure! bio |

I like that last one! Even if I would run it the other way
Anyway, I also like to use paint when I do tacks and a good base to stand on I think is the racingcircuits.net style. (The site is closed now but there's a mirror at theracingline.net/racingcircuits) |

thats the beauty of that circuit - it can be run either way as its so simple
when i looked at it afterwards it made me think of an old Hockenheim |

OK now that you have started to add extras as you call them, you are going to have to think of them in position as you design your circuit.
For example, the return from the hairpin (T2 or 3) is now too close to the S/F "straight" for a gravel trap that really would be needed. This one also has the best positioned pitlane so far, in that both the entry and the exit are off the racing line. Easy modifications to this circuit would be to straighten the S/F and make a new T1 of a proper right hander leading up to the hairpin. If the straight was to be continued from the point of the pitlane entry, then this would create space for the gravel trap I mentioned earlier on the return from the hairpin. A final point, I just noticed that the S/F section is 1.5 km long, that is probably a little long, though I'm not quite sure where your measuring the distance at. The above modification would probably help to shorten then the S/F into a more conventional length. Don't be think I'm being too critical, hopefully these comments will help you to develop your designs. |

my main method of working out length is to work out how much of the track length it is
actually if i made turn one a proper corner it would be about a kilometer id guess thanks for the feedback Last edited by mattt; 22 May 2008 at 20:38. |

Hi,
this one is just a bit too twisty for my taste. What I'd do is use the blue option sections and leave out the two sections that these blue lines shortcut. That would leave us with a simplified, but, I belive, more enjoyable track. The first corner might do with some broadening. All in all it's a promising one! bio PS: the bridge seems to be just a bit too wide. I figure its about 40 meters wide. |

yea the bridge is a bit wide
possibly about half the width to allow 4 lanes of traffic |

As a circuit shape this appears to work better than the original
