Radio Le Mans On Air This Sunday ! ! ! ! !
This just in from Autosport.com
With just six weeks to go before the Le Mans 24 Hours all the teams are in action this weekend at the historic track, taking advantage of a pre-qualifying test session. No actual starting positions will be decided, but the test should give a pretty good indication of form. It will also be a chance for many of the teams to put their cars' endurance to the test on the varied and demanding circuit. The best way to keep up with the all action is to tune into Radio Le Mans sponsored by GM.com. On Sunday May 5 the station will broadcast live on the web from 8am through to the close of the session at 5pm (BST). With coverage coming directly from the pit lane at Le Mans, it will be first with all the latest news. To listen in, just click on Radio Le Mans link situated on the right-hand navigation of Autosport.com. It is a shame I will miss it I am away climbing the Yorkshire Dales all weekend, or I would be tuned in for sure...never mind I can not wait until June. |

Damn it, I access the web at the local library, which, of course, is closed on Sundays. Ahhhhhhh.... Only 6weeks, just 6weeks.

Sorry, no time to answer. I have to turn the PC off and get going. We're on the 18:21 shuttle, supper in France, in Le Mans by the early hours!

Wish I was going to the pre-qual. It's good to know I'll be able to keep up with it on RLM.
Has anyone got their tickets for Le Mans yet? The ACO haven't sent ours yet (we could use them for pre-qual). Some years we've had them by now, some years we get them days before the actual race! Now we have the radio, but what other sites will be good for keeping track of the times? Does the official ACO site carry up to the minute times? I'm normally there so I don't know! Six weeks eh? |

It'll be nice to hear the radio voices even if we can't see the cars. Nothing racing this weekend except taxicabs.

If I can remember, the first car out of pits last year was a Porsche, can't remember which one... few minutes with very few cars on the track, then first LMP out were Audi... always ready !
They made only one lap and went in for new set-ups, and went out again... after an hour, the battle had start... For this year, I bet for the small teams out first in the new curve, because they don't have much time to prepare out of Le Mans... so the GT's, and certainly Kondo's Dome and Goh's Audi... O boy, oh boy ! I can hear them ! Not too much , but certainly we'll have thinking of you, pals ! |

Good I hate this University network, just logged on and thought I would check out the details from pre-qual on Sunday, Found all the times etc, but the Autosport website said there where some interviews archive, great I thought, I can tune and find out what happen over the week, but, now by real player at this university would not work....
Only 6 weeks to go I can not wait for my 1st visit to the great race |

Did anyone get any decent "reception" of RLM on their PC? I kept logging in, waiting for the Realplayer to buffer (and buffer.....and buffer....) and then I'd get half a minute of commentary before the buffering started again! I gave up in the end. (Probably my poxy old computer!).

I got about 5-10 minutes of commentary before 30 seconds of buffing, later on it was more like 10 secs of commentary then 2 minutes of buffing..... grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

I don't supposed their servers can cope with the demand.
World Rally Radio used to be very poor, but now you have to login to it it's much better. Perhaps Radio Le Mans will learn the lesson and do the same. FG |

I got great "reception". However occasionally if I did some extreme downloading at the same time it would lose it's buffer. I mainly listened in the morning.
I really enjoyed. I really can't wait till June now! |
