RBR launch

Are they both having their team launch on the same day? Anyone know when this is?

FPV GTHO should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Last i heard, RBR was the end of January, and STR had been delayed into February. I guess RBR are getting priority over the first couple of chassis.

I read on another forum it will be on the 26th of January....and the website confirms it..http://www.redbullracing.com/switch....216-1629201891

Quote:
There are fifty one days separating March 18 from January 26. And what’s the significance of that we hear you ask? Well, March 18 is the date of this season’s first Grand Prix, in Melbourne, Australia and January 26 is the day when Red Bull Racing will start testing the RB3, the car which carries our hopes for this year’s championship. The first test will take place at the Catalunya Circuit, near Barcelona, Spain and before the new machine takes to the track, it will be unveiled to the F1 media, who will also get the chance to talk to key players in the team and our drivers, David Coulthard and Mark Webber.
And on Australia Day too - how fitting

The RBR launch is the one that I'm perhaps looking forward to the most...can't wait to see what Captain Newey and his Aeronauts of Power have got up their sleeves!

A couple of pics of the RB3 at Barcelona courtesy of

www.f1-live.com.

Sorry if this post is a little awkward. I did try to put the pics one above the other.

Those that have commented on those pictures liken the RB3 to the MP4/21, and i'd have to agree. The sidepods look eerily similar, although what is visible of the bodywork also looks very clean. The rear wing however, much like the 21, looks to still be sideplate mounted which apparently causes more drag than a centre mount.

agreed it dose look like the MP4/21 especialy the sidepods of what we can see there no change in paintwork, was it Webber or DC driving and does anyone know what times it put down as they are not on the F1-live website?

Dont expect any times until maybe Friday. It was only a shakedown, so even if they did get the stop watch out, it wouldnt be accurate. Infact, it'll probably be a few days until they get into serious testing, with all the systems checks and comparisons theyre likely to do against the RB2.

RB3 launch tomorrow - from the glimpses of the car getting a shakedown in Barcelona it looks promising. Newey-special very tight packaging and heavily undercut sidepods, zero-keel (now the standard), Renault engine… I do hope they go well.

Gerben24 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
They have not just taken Renaults engine, they have also taken their side-pods!

It would look great if it had a better colour scheme Lets hope for RBR's sake that it doesn't share certain other characteristics of the MP4-21, ie. slow, lack of grip on fast tracks, and unreliability.

Looking sophisticated doesn't mean it is fast, look at Mclaren over the last few years If it wasn't for those red, blue and grey lines I'd rate it as the best-looking...but those lines seem a tad unnecessary :P

Most of the mishaps were Mercedes doing and not Adrian Newey's.Hopefully, now that his car has reliable mechanical bits,it will do better.

Very nice.

Yum, yum! Reminds me of the MP4/20, unsurprisingly!

If it goes as well as it looks, it'll get good results.
