Surprisingly it sounds like the rest of the IMSA schedule will likely proceed.
Laguna confirmed by staff as a go but likely without fans. https://racer.com/2020/09/08/laguna-...2020-calendar/ Mid-Ohio not set yet but with this weekend's Indy races and 6k attendance cap the series expects the same for IMSA. Charlotte, Petit and Sebring seem certain without major changes in state governance. |

Well except those allowed day use in the camping areas and around the park. Sounds like a we said no fans but you can hang out at the park, just can't be a fan. Ask the governor what the distinction is

There must be a bit of uncertainty about Porsche at Mid Ohio after Porsche pulled the Manthey car (Grello) from this weekend's Nurburgring 24 AND all official drivers that were at Le Mans: Richard Lietz, Patrick Pilet, Romain Dumas, Matt Campbell, Michael Christensen, Kévin Estre, Thomas Preining, Matteo Cairoli and Julien Andlauer.
Nick Tandy, Fred Mako and Laurens Vanthoor were at Le Mans too. Earl Bamber was not. Other factory drivers that were not at Le Mans include: Mathieu Jaminet, Patrick Long, Sven Müller, Simona De Silvestro, Dirk Werner and Timo Bernhard https://www.autosport.com/gt/news/15...nurburgring-24 http://www.dailysportscar.com/2020/0...-24-hours.html https://www.endurance-info.com/fr/po...id-19-au-mans/ |

Or no car at all? They have had no luck at all in IMSA, apart from bad luck.
Bamber will race at the Nürburgring, so I assume they won't race at Mid Ohio. http://www.dailysportscar.com/2020/0...r-for-n24.html |

Yeah, I'm not sure where you got the no more IMSA races with multiple rounds left in the contract with Core. 2 weeks quarantine would still allow Charlotte although I could see them play it safe and go Petit, Laguna, Sebring.

If they were remotely serious about IMSA they shouldn't have entered their IMSA drivers at Le Mans to begin with.

In the s365 notes from mid ohio today there was this quote:
"Klaus said both WTR and MSR programs will remain single-car efforts for now due to the limited number of tubs available by the manufacturer." Limited number of Oreca tubs??? That can't be an issue right? |

Well there's a race today, not that you'd know it from any coverage. Michelin Pilot Cup race 2 running now for those who get the Michelin Gold Pass. The main show at 205 for the international and radio audience, 1100pm for us here in the country where the race is run. Yeah, I don't know either.
Cameron on DPi pole 1:10.839 Taylor on GTLM pole 1:17.985 Telitz on GTD 1:20.974 Week off next week and then back to back Charlotte and Petit. |

Race is on Track Pass.
I've been trying to get info on Charlotte GT race. Track mentions it but no ticket/broadcast info. It's only a bit over 3 hrs away; I'd like to check it out. |

There is just something missing from the series this year. Certainly not because of DPI. Penske Acura and Multimatic Mazda teams always seem to have eventful things happen to them. Sometimes good or bad. Although not having a Nissan presence takes away some diversity factors. GT is proably where things are feeling more thin now. I think the Ford withdraw has had a big big impact. Feeling it more more and as the year goes on. GTD being somewhat top heavy has been a reason too. With that said..its getting better. 14 Lexus did win Mid Ohio but at least we had some different challengers. Glad to see #23 Aston and #76 Mclaren be competitive. So GTD is getting better at least. I think Charlotte in GTD is going to be one to watch for sure.
