Di Montezemolo: Dennis Should See a Psychiatrist

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has slammed McLaren boss Ron Dennis after the Italian team clinched on Sunday both World Championships for the second consecutive year.

Briton Dennis has attacked Ferrari several times this season, earlier this year accusing the Maranello team of hypocrisy at claims that they were fully supporting the freeing of electronic systems in Formula One, and recently suggesting the FIA - the sports' governing body - favours Michael Schumacher when making their decisions.

After winning their eleventh Drivers' and Constructors' Championships on Sunday with a one-two finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Ferrari's di Montezemolo has hit back at Dennis, suggesting the McLaren boss should see a psychiatrist.

"I see that some of our competitors who used to announce their driver line-up early are unable to do so now," said di Montezemolo referring to McLaren, who remain tight-lipped about their drivers for 2002. "That is their problem. I see that so many people talk about Ferrari and make judgments about our drivers.

"I have seen recent declarations from Ron Dennis. I have a friend who is a psychiatrist, one of my best friends, and I can recommend him to Ron Dennis to give him some help."

Ron is sounding desparate.
