Chrysler poised to can Le Mans Project ?

It is reported in this weeks Autosport that Chrysler is to can it's Le Mans project:-

Chrysler appeared on the verge of announcing the end of there Le Mans 24 hour prototype programme. Rumours suggest that a decision to cancel development of the Mopar V8 engine and backing of the ORECA team was made late last week, Chrysler have refused to confirm the news an announcement looks imminent.

ORECA looks certain to continue with the Dellara-built chassis either with a customer version of the Mopar engine or an alternative.

To me it looks like Chrysler wanted success straight away, but the have been blown away buy the Audi's and they do not want to spend any more dollar's ctrying to catch them.
