A Question for the Mechanics

Since I was young I have always wanted a job working as pit crew in motorsport. I appreciate that such jobs are very hard to come by and require years of effort.

Well, I still really want that job, and realise that I will have to start at the bottom, but have never found a way into the industry.

So I was wondering how you guys started out?

Thanks for reading this, and for any help received.
