And it seems that the 2010 regs have hurt Peugeot more than Audi, because the 2010 R15 is at least equal to, if not faster than the '09 car, while the 908s are slower than they were last year. Having to ditch the DPFs may be a sign that the Pugs are struggling for power, as straightline speed seems to be their only defense now, as only the Intersport car is marginally faster though the speed trap.
Last night, Peugeot consisantly ran between 200-203 mph though the speed traps, while only once did an Audi get significantly above 200, and that was just above 201. The Audis may catch the Pugs in traffic and the twisty stuff, but that back straight may be Peugeot's savior. |
