Indeed it is and it happens to everything, Supertouring being one of better examples of it. It shows why cost capping makes sense for this kind of racing. I can understand why Ratel does not want factory entries as they can push the costs up and as well if they all go when things become too expensive then the series goes out of the window. However factory entries can improve the quality of the racing and boost the image of the series. It's a sad catch 22.
Why not do things like they do in the WTCC? You have a core group of teams that do the whole thing, and then you have local teams that do certain races. It would interesting to see how many teams would enter if the cap was removed.
I also like the idea of having an end of year race for the national series in Europe.
