Just spoken to Peter at iconic memory and he informs me that a 10 Tenths T should be possible. Basically we would need a minimum of 30 advance orders, and would need to decide quickly what design we would be looking for...

quote:
Hi Craig! Thanks for this e-mail. You raise an interesting question. In short, a Ten Tenths T-shirt is possible. It may take a while to develop, mainly because we have just entered my printers busy season - producing for the great NZ summer. Generally, I try to develop new designs in winter, when he has more 'down time'. However, if we use existing cars, then in effect the development has been done - ink tones, shading levels, squeegee pressures, etc... Lettering tends to be 100% colour at 100% pressure. No big deal. OK, let's talk turkey: I suggest you take a look at all my cars, and pick 2... 1939 Mercedes-Benz W163 1954/55 Mercedes-Benz W196 1956 Lancia-Ferrari D50A 1957 Maserati 250F 1958 Vanwall 1961 Ferrari 156 Sharknose 1975 Ferrari 312T 1982 Ferrari 126C2 1998 Ferrari F310 1998 Mclaren MP4/13 With a 1 car design - say a Ferrari - what McLaren or Jordan fan is going to buy it? 2 cars should satisfy more fans & broaden the appeal. The trick is to get the right 2 cars... IF your membership is interested in both classic and modern F1, go for a classic car plus a modern; say 156 Sharknose & MP4/13. If modern only, maybe Ferrari & McLaren. Adding text is easy, as long as I design it using a colour in the cars. If you seriously want to go ahead with this: 1. Tell me which (one) or 2 cars you favour. 2. Send me a few lines of exactly what it is about Ten Tenths that appeals to your readers - preferably what is unique. Then I can work on a 'punch line' 30 would be a minimum run, and if I factor my time in, I would barely cover my costs. So we may have to consider selling these without the 10% discount - at least for a while. Kick the idea around and tell me what you think. If we do go ahead, we should be able to have them ready for December delivery. Thinking ahead, if a simple standard design is agreed, then later 'special editions' would be possible, simply adding a line of text - "Le Mans Tour 2000" or whatever. Cheers Peter -- Unique graphics of Formula 1 cars T-shirts for lovers of the sport http://www.iconic-memory.com

Please post your thoughts and suggestions. For what it's worth, I would suggest that we went for two classic cars rather than modern ones, if the arguments on the F1 forum are anything to go by! |
