ranoff, go to Trackside - no minimum posts. Sounds like we can manage quite a choir...
Talk to you in June if not on line, and we'll see what can be organised? |

We are running a std busa engine to start off with so that we can learn how to drive the car 1st. It also gives me a great excuse for being slow to start off with Dave |

I think it is 'PC' for 'Phil Cooke'.

Ah. DaveK is having a car with the aero bits and bodywork like Tony Hunt, and unlike Phil Cooke.

One can only assume that Tony Hunt has finely honed aero appendages and a low-drag body

2005 Champion
My bet would be for Adam Fleetwood to scoop another championship.
What with all the bull****, sorry I meant to say learned comment, above it seems that all these new cars will mean people will be going slower! My guess is Adam won't! PS 3rd June 1984 - Shelsley Walsh - Rd 6 British Hillclimb Championship - after that day the only way was down for Mike Pilbeam! |

Perhaps Mr Pilbeam and his buddies have been paying too much attention to other racing projects to devote as much as is required to stay in top form in Hillclimbing...

Pilbeam have gone 'backwards' over the years because of a concentration on other aspects of motor sport but what do we think of the Gould when it seems, to me anyway, that relatively few cars appear from them each season - where is the Mark Budgett car that was supposed to appear last year ? The real progress is being made by OMS, Radical, Force etc. these days. As a relative newcomer, although guided by many worthy souls, I have wondered what a driver actually buys from, say, David Gould. Is it a complete car or a chassis, in the loosest sense, and they fit their own engine ????? Someone please clarify.
I have just received a reply from Goodwood - Revival tickets are on sale, £77 for three days. How much is it for the Grand Prix ? Lets face it there is almost as much overtaking at a hill-climb and continuous action in the paddock. |

I suspect its more than £77 for 3 days old fruit.......For the GP that is...
I am not sure but I think Gould supply a basic car and you fit your own engine and stuff..(I am more than willing to be corrected if anyone knows for sure).. Good point about the new baby Goulds tho.......Could it be because the big bangers are only modified F3 tubs(IIRC) and the new baby Gould I believe is new from the ground up(again stands to be corrected) ?? Sounds good but nothing like the same access to the cars and drivers as at F.o.S. pay your money and make your choice. Each to their own. p.s. glad to see your signature change BlackX, you would have been missed. Last edited by Stuart Hill; 17 Dec 2004 at 20:01. |
