I will get one of those, but I have all the supplements back to 1986, so I'd like to keep it going.

Also, the Autosport guide would be great for those of us who aren't lucky enough to be able to go this year!

Some entry list stats to chew on. Possibly not 100% accurate...
62 cars listed 5 Hypercar 27 LMP2 7 GTE Pro 23 GTE Am This is the third year in a row with only 5 cars in the top class. There were 8 in 2019. Last year the 5 Hypercars finished in the first 5 places on the road, which must have surprised everyone. That surely won't happen again this year? 27 cars in LMP2 is a record. All are Orecas except CD Sport's lonely Ligier. We don't even have pretend constructors with rebadged Orecas like Alpine and Aurus this time. Unless something changes, this is the last year of GTE Pro at Le Mans. And also the last year of a Pro GT class of any kind until they change their minds again. It's been a great class with some huge battles over the years. Hopefully this year lives up to it. 23 cars in GTE Am is the same as last year, which was the most in the 'junior' GT class since 2010 at least. Next year we could see 12-14 cars in Hypercar? (2 each from Cadillac, Ferrari, Glickenhaus, Peugeot and Toyota; maybe 4 Porsches). The extra cars will mostly just replace the GTE Pro cars in the entry list so we are likely to see similar size LMP2 and GTE Am fields. Drivers Platinum 57 31% Gold 43 23% Silver 50 27% Bronze 36 19% Le Mans rookies 53 28% I think there are 3 entirely rookie crews. The only rookie in Hypercar/GTE Pro is Shane van Gisbergen in the #74 Riley Motorsports Ferrari. He was meant to start the 2020 race but Covid 19 had other ideas. Driver with most starts (excl 2022) Emmanuel Collard 24 starts Crew with most starts (excl 2022) #708 Glickenhaus 41 starts (Dumas 21, Pla, 14, Derani 6) Average starts per driver 3.9 Previous overall winners 7 Conway, Kobayashi, Lopez, Buemi, Hartley, Dumas, Tandy Previous class winners (excl overall) 37 Lapierre, Negrao, Milesi, Collard, Bourdais, Albuquerque, Hanson, Jarvis, Lynn, Bradley, Frijns, D Vanthoor, Stevens, Habsburg, Heinemeier-Hansson, Canal, Nielsen, Rovera, Perrodo, Calado, Pier Guidi, Serra, Garcia, J Taylor, Milner, Bruni, Lietz, Christensen, Estre, L Vanthoor, Vilander, Ledogar, Tincknell, Ried, Fisichella, Campbell, Thiim) Driver nationalities FRA 36 GBR 27 USA 19 ITA 16 CHE 12 DNK 11 BEL 7 BRA, DEU, NED 6 JPN 5 PRT 4 AUS, AUT, MEX, NZL 3 ARG, CDN, ESP, IDN, IRL, POL, ZAF 2 CHN, EST, FIN, SVK, SWE 1 |

My memory may be playing tricks, but I am sure that in the early 80s Auto sport had a stand at the race. Then again, back then there were lots of stuff given away, teams could sell stuff out of the back of a lorry and the fair had freak shows and strippers. Magazine racks on the ferry over were fully stocked and I even got to travel back on the same ferry as Derek Bell a couple of times

Test day BoP
https://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/...-test-day-bop/ The Alpine is running almost the same power to weight ratio as LMP2. Performance difference has to come from tyres, aero and stint length. |

I remember this from a previous year too. Didn’t go down well. At least we have Mike’s summary. Quote:

Only a couple of the reserves, none of the selected cars - unless you count Hardpoint becoming Absolute....

Can't beat that lovely shade of green. Always a great livery on a race car. 7up Jordan springs to mind. Enough to make your mouth water
Shame the Americans felt green cars were bad luck.... |

"Day of the Dead" theme to represent the Mexican nationality of one of the drivers.
I may be a total cultural brute, but I would have thought bold Aztec inspired graphics instead would have looked stunning. Last edited by skycafe; 4 Jun 2022 at 18:26. Reason: I failed typing |

The green with some red reminds me of the short-lived Shannon F1 team. In reality I see the Shannon cars had also a lot of white.
