Well, to expand, about 30 books, but also have a wardrobe full of Motorsport News and older Autosport Magazines. And 15 box files of press releases, one of e-mails and one of race programmes, plus various other assorted junk....and that's all in my bedroom!

I'm not sure which marks me out as sadder - having this many or counting how many there are....
Books = 142. Autosport = 2600+ (just need another 77 now for the set) Motor Sport = 682 Race Programmes = 1528 Videotapes = 522 home tapes, 171 pre-recorded. |

23 Books, a pile of magazines about 2' high, a dozen videos all precorded and about 50 race programmes. That is just racing by the way, not counting road/motoring.

Glad to see I'm not alone. I have about 20 books, currently reading "French Kiss with Death" the making of LeMans. Magazines far to many, some at home and some at the folks place. Videos? I recorded last years Grand Prix season (Qualifying and Races), I'm thinking that might be a bit much. A man only has so much space for storage But I think I might watch the '99 Lemans tonight or maybe the 2001 Brazilian GP, or maybe just read my book or race the LeMans circuit on SCGT. Decisions, Decisions

A 1999 Grand Prix preview
1999 GB GP autosport preview 1999 August edition of F1 racing 2000 October edition of F1 racing 2001 some time in March - Autosport. There's not that much need to buy stuff when you can get most of your info off the internet. |

I'd take issue with the suggestion that the internet is a suitable substitute for a carefully purchased library. A lot of archive material has not been reproduced - even on the net, and the internet is too ephemeral to be reliable.
As a case in point, one of the finest sports car sites on the net is on hold due to a contractual disagreement, and a much-visited internet racing photo archive went under recently with no warning whatsoever. Don't get me wrong - I've sourced some valuable information from the internet, but I wouldn't want to rely on it as my sole repository of knowledge. |

I agree with you Tim. Even though I've only got about 30 books, I also have about 50-60 vids (mostly dealing with Le Mans and sportscars). I've been an Autosport subscriber for many years, but don't have the space to keep them. Each year I keep just one copy and one supplement. (The Le Mans supplement and the Le Mans results issue!). I've got just two Grand Prix on tape, Imola and Monaco '94 and I've never played the former since recording it.

One problem with the Internet, is the poor level spelling and grammar when people don't spell check the articles, and many of them are spwelt wong.

Not a MASSIVE collection, as such, but 240 including magazines etc. And about 30 tapes. Plus 4.4 Gigabytes of footage on PC.
