He's only just missed out on being eligable to drive in Konica's so perhaps he could slip back there and demonstrate his walking on water ability like in 2000,and demonstrate that is was not the fact that he had an SBR car that gave an unrealistic account of his skill.
After all he is as one poster reported "hot property" |

I think poor old David may not be a marketable item at the moment.
It's a dog eat dog world. He is blisteringly quick given the right car but seems to be facing brain fade in race situations. |

My money would say Paul Morris's out fit would be a good place for DB, he is fast, they have a fast car, even with the over weight son driving it, and are funded very well indeed! are they going to expand to 2 cars? FPR has a franchise for sale too I believe???
Could anyone else see DB doing well in a black Holden??? hmmmm...... |

He is contracted to Ford but they said if the only drive he can get is with Holden they will let him go. I wonder if he doesn't get a drive he will still get paid for sitting around all year except for the long distance events.

he was also very fast in setons car at Bathurst, his speed doesn't seem to be his problem, his problem is maybe speed related, but its the lack of brake and steering use, he is fast but bashes the cars too much.

David Besnard is considered a natural talent by those who have worked with him. The bigger issue is that the talent is not applied in a methodical manner. Sure he can drive a car fast, but can he make meaningful changes to the vehicle so it doesnt burn tyres up so easily... so that the qualifying setup actually shows the benefit of a new tyre gain... so that the moves in the races are strategic not opportunistic...
Not much use having talent if its more akin to demolition derby at the speedway than in a multimillion dollar touring car fleet. Can the attitude be changed? Most likely, but what car owner has that kind of patience? |

And the time as well, although having a senior driver as a team mate who is willing to guide and teach would be a help... funny that didn't seem to eventuate at FPR

How can you guide and teach someone who isnt disciplined in their approach? Or indeed thinks they already know how to drive?
Seton and Lowndes have bounced things off each other all season, it has been suggested that Craig has progressed technically to some degree this year thanks to Glenn's involvement. It was no accident that GS set the #6 car up at Bathurst... and look at the pace they generated from the anaemic old thing... |

The door is always open... but if the driver doesnt realise the issue... the first bit of this year it was blamed on the old dunger AU, then he moved to Seton's car and got worse if anything... then to the BA, which was crunched or blown up at virtually every meeting it was on the track.
Good drivers in dungheaps are still good drivers. Drivers with poor application are that way in any car... |

My money is on DB going to Thextons Team to replace DT and get the car on the grid at EVERY round, it makes sense as he might have come from sydney but as far as I know still resides on the gold coast.

I agree a good driver is always a good driver, and sympathetic on there machinery.
Look at Lowndes, at GMS/00 He did wonders in a car that didn't deserve to be there, and he has done similar things at FPR. To me, look at where your team mates are, and poor Besnard has been consistantly been beaten by all of them, and the amazing thing is, every team mate he has had is now a champion in the V8 Series!!! Maybe Dave needs to go to a Level 2 team where he won't have a team mate and can hide in a corner somewhere |

When he was here in the states in FAtlantic he did pretty good, but I don't think anyone marked him as a superstar.
