ADAC Procar
I've asked this before, but can someone explain to me the basics of the new Procar championship? Also, why has it had so little publicity?

Thanks, 19dodge. An interesting proposition. But we'll need to see the entry lists, I suppose. Any more takers apart from Franz Konrad?

A number of teams are interested but it's too early to tell. I'd say 15 cars on the grid for the first race will be a success.
To further quote myself , "to ensure parity between these seven divisions in one field, the organisers have come up with a points system unlike anything the FIA, or the Can-Am, or any other series, has used before. The first 40 cars home are awarded points, with 50 for the win, 48 for second place, and so on down to 26th, from where they get 5 points each right down to 40th place. Add to this the points awarded for the finish within the class, which are determined by the difference between the number of starters in the class and the individual class result, multiplied by 5." The official web pages will be on http://www.top10sport.de ("soon") Last edited by cybersdorf; 6 Dec 2004 at 15:22. |

According to the organizers there are 60 teams interested so far. This may come down to 20 regular starters in the 1st season . Guest starters are allowed and the only limit for participant-numbers are the FIA-track-protocolls of the used racesites.
Looks not too bad so far. |

Procar
Is this ADAC Procar series supposed to be a successor to "The Langstrecken-Pocal" ?

This is what a GT1 Porsche could look like. This reminds me the the Kremer/Loos period.

The Vitaphone Porsche is probably going to drive in the Procar championship. New (turbo) rules of the Langstrecke races on the old Ring rule it out.
Great car though especially when you hear it sounds like a jet.. |

Why useless? let the Porsche first run according to that rules and decide then how competetive it is.
VLN/24h-Special may be the class with the highest entry-numbers (10 potential entrys so far) -a class win here (and I still think that the vitaphone-Porsche-driver-lineup is capable of that) will automatic mean the championship for that team Last edited by GT-Eins; 10 Dec 2004 at 17:51. |

The other problems are the tires of the Alzen Porsche. There´re a lot of rumours that the tire problem is not solved. They only had luck that they don´t have more crashs. |

But the Alzen-Team would have also several other Porsches to race and the Vitaphone Saleen of AB-Motorsport is known as potential entry too |

Is anyone brave enough to attempt a provisional entry list for Procar?

Wouldn't be surprised to see some Dutch Supercar Challenge entries as well. Marcos/Viper CC perhaps?
