That could be interesting!

I should make it down to Lydden Saturday so I'll try and pop over and say hello, it's usually fairly easy to spot me at race meetings as I generally wear a ludicrously coloured pair of combats.

Rod Birley should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Timetable is as follows, with number of cars in brackets:
Practice starts at 09.00 with 2CVs (10), Southern Saloon and Sports (23), BARC single seaters (10), Track and Race Saloons (18), MX5s (14), 2CV enduro cup (10), TVRs (11), Toyo Tyres Mod Prods (10). Racing should start just after midday, 12 races in all, finishing by 5.30....hopefully.

Just a thought - should this thread now be renamed "Lydden Hill Sat 17th July 04" rather than "Lydden Hill Sat 10th July....)?

Anyone know if it is possible to do this? I was just thinking that anyone interested in going would be put off as the thread title refers to LAST Saturday. Or maybe we could start a new thread and ask the moderator very nicely if they would merge the two?

Well 2 of the cars in race one seemed to forget that!

I got down to Lydden about 15 minutes before the rain started - I then spent the next 3 hours cowering in the car, how much thunder and lightning?

Not really a great deal that anyone could do about the conditions or the accidents but it was still a shame there wasn't much racing. Does anybody know why they ran the 2cv's again at the end instead of re-running race 1? That pretty much hacked me off, the best cars out there (from a spectators point of view) with the biggest grid had 2 laps of racing all day (and they were in atrocious conditions), the 2cv's had already completed a race so why run them again?
