oh
Had that on my watch list and forgot to bid. Think I've seen that one on Ebay before, or at least one very similar. Your right about it normally being in the £50-75 range |

Well, it's arrived. The model is immaculate externally but the seat inside the car is not fixed and is rolling round the inside of the car. This is something that was not advised on the eBay listing and may have even happened in transit.
Is there any point in complaining to the seller? I cba if truth be told, but it'll probably effect the value of the model. Should I just live with it? |

Is the bottom of the car screwed on or rivited? You could try dis-assembly and re-glueing the seat.
Failing that you could get shot of it. I'll take it off your hands, but of course as it's damaged I can't pay the full £31 |

Well done, Redshoes, thanks for the suggestion! The shell is screwed onto the base so I will take it apart and re-glue it
Incidently I have just noticed the original price label on the front of the perspex case... £69.50. So I don't think I could have bought myself to complain to the poor fella who sold it me anyway!! |

Had my eye on that too Craig, but you know, living with the rents I get moaned at for buying rubbish.
Also every time I see something I question where I could spend that money - like racing for real! |

It's simple when you have a mortgage to pay, you either pay the bank for the benefit of living in their house, or you buy nice things to put in it... and when they moan I just tend to ignore.

I have seen a few of the Brock Volvo 850 Volvos before, you just have too search using '850' and if there is one there the search will find it, also dont be afraid to check 'international' sellers.
I dont have one myself, but i did think about buying one once before, i didn't bother in the end but it would have only cost 35 pounds at the time. Since the unfortunate loss of Peter Brock the price of anything associated with him has rocketed, hence the big money start on that 850 model, i even recall looking at it on eBay when it was listed, far too much for me though. Craig, i am also an avid collector of BTCC models, and like you i am only six or so models off completing my intended list, that list would mean every BTCC model produced by Onyx, both cars in each team in each year Onyx produced them. And a smattering of the very rare Minichamps cars such as the Volvo 850 range, the Cavaliers and the mid 90's BMW's, those usually fetch big money so i dont intend on getting them all, i am happy to settle for the one 96 BMW of Whinklehock, and one 850 estate of Lammers (minichamps). I do have all of the Cavaliers though, except Harry Nuttals Ecurie Ecosse Cavalier from 93 (i have seen these, (racing replicas). However my 93 Leslie Cavalier is a problem to me, i bought it cheap, i think it cost 25 pounds, which is a bargain when you see them go for 50 - 75 more often than not. However it is not in the original plynth and case, and this is something i need to try and sort out, its currently in a case, but its one i sourced from an ordinary Minichamps model. |

Any BTCC 1:43 collectors here? (merged)
Title says it all... anyone here collect 1:43 BTCC models? If so, what do you own and what is your 'holy grail' model, which one do you keep missing?

I've always wanted to start a 1:43 BTCC and rally car collection, but not enough cash. One day though.
It's a shame there aren't that many manufactured these days either, if any. |

I'm putting together a list of all the diescasts that I believe have been made and will post that up shortly, along with a list of what I actually own/want especially for you, John
Knowlesy, they can go at ridiculously cheap prices on eBay but there's been a definate slow down on the number of cars listed on there recently (for that exact reason?) but some of the rarer ones (such as (any) Cavalier, early Bimmers, the 95 Cecotto BMW (for some reason, presumably there was a problem at the factory and the fronts were all smashed in which, I guess, would at least make them authentic...) and the Valvoline Mondeos) can go for silly money (50 quid upwards) |

My collection consists of any cars that raced in the Super Touring era, namely 1991-1999. I do have the 2004 Alfa for some reason also, but we'll not mention that!
I am lucky enough to have acquired all of those that I want over the past 18 months with the exception of six cars: 1998 Renault - Plato 1996 BMW - Winkelhock 1995 Ford - Radisich 1995 Ford - Burt 1994 Volvo - Lammers 1994 Ford - Burt So if anyone has those to sell at a sensible price feel free to PM me. I also have the following kits which I bought (ready made) from a 10 Tenths member: 1991 season 4 BMW M3 Vic Lee Motorsport (Labbatts) Tim Harvey Baymo: 016 11 BMW M3 Vic Lee Motorsport (Listerine) Will Hoy Unknown: C046 17 BMW M3 Prodrive Steve Soper Baymo: 017 1992 season 12 BMW 318is Rimstock Racing Matt Neal Baymo: 018 30 BMW 318is M Team Mobil Alain Menu Baymo: 015 1993 season 2 Toyota Carina E GTi Will Hoy Formula Kit: FK031 14 Peugeot 405 Team RKR Ian Flux Formula Kit: FK028 45 Peugeot 405 Peugeot Sport Rob Gravett Formula Kit: FK028 66 Mazda Xedos 6 Team Mazda Patrick Watts Formula Kit: Unknown UPC 1994 season 4 Vauxhall Cavalier Vauxhall Sport John Cleland Formula Kit: FK029 7 Toyota Carina E GTi TOMs Team Toyota Will Hoy Formula Kit: FK044 23 Nissan Primera Janspeed Keith Odor BBRPJ43 1995 season 4 Vauxhall Cavalier Vauxhall Motorsport John Cleland Formula Kit: FK024 I would be happy for anyone to fill in the gaps/correct me on the diecasts and (particularly) the kits. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts/feedback...! |
