Where can I find live timing from GP2? I can't find my way on the new Eurosport website.

Seems like Maldonado should be happy that they lifted his lifetime ban from Monaco

He won that race in WSR last year as well.

Yes, not exactly the best race to make such an embarrassing mistake.

You wouldn't have put money on Maldonado to win given his start to the season, certainly not to be so dominant. It'll be interesting if he can sustain his form come Magny-Cours or if it's a Monaco blip. Glock did well to salvage third, but what happened to Senna? He was on for a point and then after the pitstop dropped out of the top ten.

Five long weeks until the next race, withdrawal symptoms begin now...

Scalabroni did a big business on sporting results hiring two Asian drivers... Why don't he offer a seat to Guerrieri or other of our countrymen for a low price, just for a single race? (The same offer could be done to Alx Danielsson, Mikhail Aleshin and other WSR/F3 stars.)

Just got the race on Speed and, again, those GP2 cars put on a great show; I really enjoyed that. Pastor Maldonado......nice to see him win that one.

That was a great move by Senna at the hairpin but for like 16th.....what did happen to him there Charlies? Pitstop? And Di Grassi getting around that stall at the start, wow. Watching those guys throw those GP2 cars around that circuit for all they've got....bit of a tough act to follow.

Has to be said a fantastic, controlled drive from Maldonado, one little errot nearly cost him but other than that pretty dominant. Like already been asked, can he continue that sort of form or on the other hand will Trident continue as they have done last couple seasons with up and down form, regardless of drivers?

I also wondered what happened to Senna later on. That move on Hirate was possibly highlight of the race though - very unorthodox passing place at Loews!!

Unfortunately I have to say not much else to enthuse about is there? Petrov did well, he's into a purple patch of form at the moment. Buemi, but he went backwards as the race progressed imo, which is understandable as it was his first race at this level.

Expected bit more from Glock but I guess he'll be happy with 3rd and continuing his push for the title.

Hello everyone, this is my first post, so nice to meet you all.

Well done to Maldonado, before the weekend, i did not expect anything from him (even though he did well in the world series last season). But this was an excellent drive, and apart from that small mistake at Rascasse, he never really looked that much under threat. I still can't see him challenging for the title.

with regards to Conway, i think he will come good soon enough

Why? He's shown nothing in GP2 so far, and he's having his behind shown to him by his teammate Filippi. I really am struggling to understand why people rate Conway so highly.

Because Conway's record so far in previous series was stellar, and his qualifying performances in GP2 haven't been half bad. Also, second race in Turkey (Or was it Bahrain) was great.

He just can't keep it going on the track, which is a shame; especially since he was my chosen driver to support this year.

For a quick comparison of why I think he should be good (Only considering whole seasons competed in, not odd races):

Code:
Mike Conway Lewis Hamilton

2006 2005
Formula 3 Britain Formula 3 Euroseries
Championship position: 1 (321 points) Championship position: 1 (161 points)

Formula 3 Macau GP Masters of Formula 3
Race position: 1. Race position: 1. Started from pole position.

2005 2004
Formula 3 Britain Formula 3 Euroseries
Championship position: 3 (192 points) Championship position: 5 (68 points)

2004 2003
Formula Renault 2000 UK Formula Renault 2000 UK
Championship position: 1 (518 points) Championship position: 1 (419 points)

2003 2002
Formula Renault 2000 UK Formula Renault 2000 UK
Championship position: 4 (312 points) Championship position: 3 (274 points)

2002
UK Formula Ford Championship
Championship position: 4 (319 points)
Not that I'm suggesting by any margin that he is the next Lewis Hamilton; but he certainly can be expected to perform well.

that's just the problem - he has been expected to do well - but so far has had a wretched time

Charlies should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Welcome to the forum JamesRamone; I think Conway is better than he's shown so far, but it was an embarrassing error on Saturday.

According to the GP2 website, Senna had a slow stop and dropped into the midfield. I'm sure the TV coverage showed the stop though, and it didn't seem slow to me.

You expect Conway to do well because he's a good driver with an eye-watering budget, so (like Lewis Hamilton) always gets top equipment. The difference is that Lewis was always able to make the most of it, and was always in contention, always beating his team mate, where Mike doesn't really seem to be able to do that. He only seems to come good when he is completely in his comfort zone, and without being pressured by a quick teammate.

Uhh, the only time he hasn't managed to out-pace a teammate is this year, so that's quite a generalization.

Conway's mistake was awful - as already said, the one place you don't want to do something like that is Monaco. I don't think we've yet seen the best from him in GP2, but he should be doing better - as Jinxxy says he's got a great budget and top equipment but he's not using that to his advantage and is just making silly mistakes.

Maldonado drove well and was a good race overall.
