An investigation was commenced into an incident involving Steven Richards Car #6 and Paul Dumbrell Car #16 in Turn 1 on Lap 3. Steven Richards had contacted the rear or Paul Dumbrell entering Turn 1. The investigation was unable to be completed at this Meeting and will be finalized at Winton VCS Round 8.

Did anyone watching Ch 7 at home see this ?!?

I was at the track (between T1 & 2) and this was the biggest incident of the race. Dumbrell spun 180 degrees then proceeded across the track backwards. There was a huge collective gasp from the crowd followed by choruses of "UNBELEIVABLE" as all the following cars somehow missed him in the huge cloud of dust.

When we got home I tried to show it to someone on the taped telecast but couldnt find it. Did Ch 7 miss it ?

they missed it, did not even comment on it, to be fair i believe something else was happening at the time

Can someone please answer me this. If Todd kelly changes engine and starts from the back of the grid in R2 , why did not HRT, as both Cromerly and Daninel Gibson both said that car#2 Mark Skaife changes engine on Sat night.

And this is not the first time one team gets pinged and another gets away with it.

The teams get one "freebie" a year where the replacement does not attract a penalty. Presumably Mr Kelly had either used it previously or wanted to save it for the enduros.... while HRT may have chosen to use up their option.
