Actually I was having a read through this thread and others similiar the other day and it got me reminiscing.

Over the 30 or so Years Ive watched / been to Bathurst etc, since I was 6 (1978) geez thats a while ago. Ive always had a liking for the enduro driver or pairing thats probably not going to win but that I wanted to see finish.

There are some "big Name" drivers past and present who dont make the list as you'll see thats more to do with what I know through friends and relatives who were involved and competing over the years and from more recent times working in the industry. Although some of these drivers have been paired with some of my favorites over the years so for that year at least I HAD to support them - like them or not.

Id be interested to know who other people supported and who your favorites always have been.

I've kept track of those I like each year and have supported them every year they competed, some of whom I watched in other categories before they .came to the "big league".

This year there are only 4 of my favorites paired with someone Im not that keen on. Most years there have been some of my favorites paired together, this year most of them are. It's going to make watching a lot more fun.

Heres who I do and have supported at Bathurst, how about you ??

Jeff Allam, Trevor Ashby, jason bargwanna , Kevin Bartlett, Neal and Rick Bates, John Blanchard, Colin Bond, David and Geoff Brabham, Dale Brede, Kerryn Bewer, Jason Bright , Brian Callaghan Snr and Jnr, Dean Canto , Murray Carter, John Cleland, Mat Coleman, Mike Conway, John Cotter, Fabian Coulthard, Greg Crick, Neil Crompton, Christian D'agostin, Tony D'alberto, Alex and Will Davison, Grant Denyer, Peter Doulman, Steve Ellery, John English, John Faulkner, Jose Fernandez, Terry Finnigan, Peter Fitzgerald, John French, Peter Gazzard, mark Gibbs, Ro Gillard, John Goss, Alf and Tim Grant, Alan Grice, Ray Paul and Graham Gulson, Matt Halliday Ross Halliday, Craig Harris, Alan Heath, Kevin Heffernan, Lee Holdsworth, Garry Holt, Darren Hossack, Mike Imrie, Peter Janson, Dick and Steven Johnson, Bob Jones, Owen Kelly, Mark Larkham, Tony Longhurst, Craig lowndes, Warren Luff Graham, John and Ken Lusty, Adam Macrow, Cameron McConville Ken Mathews, Cameron Mclean, Tomas Mezera, Andrew Miedecke, Graham Moore, Richard Mork, Bob Morris, Charlie Obrien, Danny Osborne, Steve Owen, Ian Palmer, Darren Pate, Bob Pearson, Win Percy, Jack Perkins, Brett Peters, Mark Poole, Drew and Shane Price and their Niece /Cousin Melinda Price, Steve Reed, tony Riccirdello, Greg Ritter , Garry Rogers, Paul Romano, Mal Rose, Wayne Russell, Neil Schembri, Garry and Tony Scott, Terry Shiel, Bill Sieders, Chris Smerdon, John Smith, Anthony Tratt, John Trimbole, Wayne Wakefield, Kevin Waldock, Gary Waldon, Phil Ward, Jamie Whincup, Mark Winterbottom, Luke Youlden Damien White, Matthew White, Garry Willmington.

Duh!!!! Just counted them and thought I was missing 2 - Add Wayne Clift and Greg Symes to that list.

Another question I'll put to you all, as well as those you do /have supported who would you like to see get an enduro gig in the next few years, from Fujitsu series , porsches, utes and other categories ???

MNews report that Davison and Johnson are going to team up in #18 for Bathurst. Can understand them using Davison's car as it has been the more consistent this year, but to not have #17 as the lead DJR car for the 1st time in over 30 years doesn't seem right. Even when Bowe was the team's lead driver, he and Johnson would always run #17 in the enduros.

If true, I expect an outpouring from the DJR faithful and that come Philip Island #17 will have been restored as the team's lead car. Its not as if car numbers are tied down to franchise spots like they were a few years ago when the lead Perkins car raced as #24.

I would think that even though they would be in the car that Will has been driving all year, it will still have #17 on the side

Not really thats a nickname - I was told on MSN by one of his former competitors. As for Matt Neal - "road Block" is one several people in Pit Lane use to describe him - I sense some bad blood relating to THAT incident a few years back.
