Isolator Switch and wiring advice

Hi guys, couple of questions I need help with.

Preparing a track day car for racing next year, and at the moment there is a battery isolator switch inside the car, which turns everything on. I know that to race I'll need one of these on the outside of the car so my question is can I just re-position the one I have inside at the moment, or is it required that you have one inside, and one outside the car?

I've just bought this little set-up fron ebay to replace whats currently in the car. Should be straight forward enough as there is already a customised set up but this one will just look neater.

Can someone advise me on how to wire this in, in terms of where it gets the power from and how it would relate to the isolator that I plan to move to the outside of the car?

Hope that's clear enough, and thanks.
Tom.

You would probably be ok relocating your existing switch outside as long as its a proper FIA 6pole master switch - there is no requirement to have one inside for racing but some folks have the master switch inside and have a pull cable for that mounted outside.

Dont forget to take into account positioning the extinguisher pull next to the electric switch - best to have them next to each other.

If you have a dig through the threads on here, you'll find a few on battery isolators.

Agreed with Dom - put it inside the car with a cable pull to outside, and alongside your fire pull (or push if you get flashy with an electric trigger!)
