Will someone tell us exactly what did happen - coz I'm dying to know. What was the 'assault' about?

I don't think he's a great loss. Too many years in F3 without showing championship winning potential for most of the time... There are plenty of young drivers who could do better. Had he got a decent drive with a top team, then he could have got further

I think assult in England is different then the states. If coming up to a guys, shaking your fist & saying some **** to him is considered assulting, then what is wipping out a gun and hitting him in the face with it? I.E. You ******s are making a big deal out of nothing!
Jamie Spence can still drive the sh*t out of a race car and THAT'S what bloody matters. |

...we forgot the whale tail spoiler and the bump bonnet!
I think he would've made a great Touring Car driver - shame. |

well in terms of this incident 'assult' isn't really the right word. It was more verbal assult - he just came up to him and started shouting the odds and being really insulting to rob - the stuff jamie was goin on about had nothing to do with the actual incident on the track though.....he got a bit carried away!

I'm sure that's happened to most people - he just lost his temper in th heat of the moment, that's all. God what a big drama over nothing - nice one El Giblets!

yer....thought there was going to be a real fight or something.....i think all drivers get heated in the moment dont they . .you see it on public roads nowadays let alone a race track.

Minassian, a former F3 fist fighting champion of the world is currently residing in ASCAR and doing quite well.. except Darren Turner keeps beating everyone.
Maybe Jamie Spence can go oval racing. He can blame any incidents on his spotter or something! ;-) |

I know this is over 8 years old but ive just come across it.I have known Jamie since he was a kid and grew up with his dad Dave.I attended Jamies f/ford days helping him and his dad and i think at that time he was one of the best drivers. He was always finding it hard to get the budget to get a good drive and after he finished in F3 he had to go back to f/renault with Ken Stanford which was,nt the best of cars.He lost his younger brother Dan in a karting accident at kimbolten in 1994 and maybe this had something to do with his career.Jamie loved his raceing and given a good car i really think he would have got to the top.I still keep in contact with him and i know he still keeps in touch with a lot of the current top runners.
