Especially when the officials are relying on radar guns to determine the speed of the leader. For example, at Winton the leader will have to negotiate three 90 degree corners after the Safety Car accelerates away from the leader. The radar gun(s) are in pit lane and won't accurately determine the speed of the leader unless they are repositioned prior to the re-start. A simpler solution is to let the race leader determine the re-start speed after the safety car accelerates away from the field. |

What was wrong with the old system?
All this AZ junk + dictated speed zones - that is complex. WWE stuff from something that is suppose to have sporting substance |

there is no reason entertainment and sport cannot be combined. They are just doing what they have always done, just now its in front of the fans. |

Whats wrong with lead car controlling the pace and start for the pack. It has seemed to work for many years and many categories around the world. |

The lead car controls the speed. Just now the launch point has been moved to starting straight. |

Code 60 hs been tested and is working well in other categories with 50+ cars. I'm sure they could manage it with 25.

Why restrict it at all? As long as he doesn't come to a complete halt or pass the safety car the choice of speed should be his. It is another example of the officials wanting to impose themselves upon the "sport" when it is simply not required. |

i wasnt aware the team owners and owners of the sport were officials? Its the officials job to implement the rules that have been provided by the people responsible for the sport |

Of course the officials could have said that the whole restart procedure was overly complicated, but why miss out on getting involved? |

They'd never do it.
Any domestic, single-class series with a significant television audience would never do it. The quicker all of you guys can get that through your head the better off you'll be. Last edited by Matt; 23 Mar 2014 at 16:56. |
