Pretty surprising to lose both cars. I thought they were independently funded.

Yep slightly concerned upon reading that earlier today. Not sure what to make of it.

2014 FIA World Endurance Championship
If it's a question of funding, I'm surprised that Amato Ferrari hasn't been able to find some replacement drivers with the coin needed for one race.
I've always assumed that the AM cars were well funded and as far as BOP goes, wouldn't they come out and say something if that were the case, to publicly speak their case for a BOP adjustment? Big surprise about both cars withdrawing. |

Maybe a simple matter of the drivers with the funding not managing to secure a Chinese visa in due time?

AF Corse should make sure the drivers have a visa like the rest of the team

Maybe but the level of PRO AFC is a different (mainly drivers), being beaten by granny Vantage in the amateur class again by laps and laps and being the slowest model in straight line speed in both classes isn't desired. We know AFC is unhappy with the ever growing BoP.

I dont get that point unless you think the AM drivers are better in Aston Martin's camp. If the PRO Astons can be beaten with the same car, then its possible to do the same in the AM class. Bop or not. Thats why I think its another reason.

Pro and Am class cars don't necessarily run the same tires (not all Michelins are the same), even if the car BOP is the same. The prep level isn't the same between the cars either.

So any AM team could be running to the same circumstances. But is that the reason the AM AF Corse cars withdrew from Shanghai? Hope we get an explanation.

Rebellion and Kodewa are really on race-by-race gaining face here as FIA has updated the H-L situation again, though only in energy. From Fuji 4,563km to Shanghai 5,451km, +15MJ/lap for L while +10MJ/lap for H
Also more of you-know-what: Porsche 991 PRO&AM -10kg AMR Vantage PRO +10kg AMR Vantage AM (2013) +10kg So far Fuji has been the only one without GTE pre adjusting 1) Prior Silverstone (re-bopped from 2013 final BoP) 2) Prior Spa 3) Prior Test Day (FIA testing) 4) Prior LM X) Prior LM II if you count Porkie refuel adjustment 5) Prior CotA I 6) Prior CotA II 7) Prior Shanghai |

Lots of nice technical drawings by Antonio Pannullo, showing various car evolutions through 2014, for those of you who like that sort of thing.
