13 races left in the season and still a very tight battle for the WC championship
Current standings
------------------------------- 1)Sterling Marlin 3094 2)Mark Martin 3051 -43 3)Jimmie Johnson* 3034 -60 4)Tony Stewart 3010 -84 5)Jeff Gordon 2944 -150 I can't wait for the Bristol race next Saturday night. This could turn out to be a race that shuffles the deck in the race for the championship. Last edited by Joe Fan; 18 Aug 2002 at 23:42. |

Bristol...One of the best races of the year. I agree, this year should be even more interesting due to the tight points race. Geez.....anything could happen. Now I am getting excited thinking about the race.

OK ladies and gentlemen....these are the top 10 starters:
1 24 Jeff Gordon 2 8 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 3 15 Michael Waltrip 4 2 Rusty Wallace 5 9 Bill Elliott 6 10 Johnny Benson 7 32 Ricky Craven 8 97 Kurt Busch 9 22 Ward Burton 10 17 Matt Kenseth A. Who will win? B. Who will be the "bad guy" in this race? Remember the last Bristol race...Ken Schrader went around and apologized to all the drivers "BEFORE THE RACE"!!! |
