I recall Colin had a failure at Snetterton in the 1-series, which might well have cost him the title, (prop shaft if I recall?).

Now if its no spectators still in 2021 would it be a good idea for the BTCC to visit Anglsey?
Its's a great track |

It's in a very remote location which would mean you would unlikely to get fans anyway. Not sure how good the facilities are there? The track seems to be up to standard though

BRSCC have had to cancel a club meeting due to not being able to meet Welsh Government guidelines, and that was for a very small meeting where they had already culled races from the timetable to reduce the number of competitors. Chances of BTCC racing there even without spectators is nil. |

Is the available paddock space any worse than Knockhill or Croft? |

At least Croft and Knockhill have a full set of garages. Not sure how many Anglesey have if at all

I wouldn’t have known about Anglesey, as it doesn’t host any major races. It’s probably best known for being the Fifth Gear test track

Lots of other schemes exist where organisations have erected plaques, but these are always informal. The blue plaque at Thruxton is fake. It was a joke gift given to BARC by Alan Gow on 2010, and is fixed to the race control building. |

But Anglesey's issue isn't garage space rather the space for a support race paddock and the lack of local infrastructure. |

This is my question. How much less paddock space is there compared to knockhill?

Croft is approx 35,000m2 and Knockhill and Thruxton both around 20,000m2. Donington Park is approx 48,000m2 |

not sure if you’re including the overflow space at knockhill in that calculation outside the main gate to the left, but if not that’s used sometimes as well. my rusty memory says that if they’re using the long circuit anglesey don’t really have any space of that kind. not sure the sheep will share either

I didn't include any of the grass at Thruxton though, even though it often holds hospitality units which are in the paddock at other locations |

Yup. I've raced at Anglesey. We could only just get a BRSCC club meeting into the paddock.

Mountune seeing sale or investor....
Mountune, the specialists in Ford products for the road and track, is currently seeking a potential sale or investment partner for its UK business. The company has engaged KPMG to help them find an investor to recapitalise the business and to unlock management’s growth aspirations for this iconic automotive performance brand. With 40 years heritage, the business has provided race engines globally to professional trophy winning race teams and developed a robust aftermarket performance parts business, with a loyal and affluent customer base, selling globally through their online platform and dealers. |

Yes, but that deal fell through, and the firm has now appointed KPMG as a result of COVID-19 impacts.
'The 40-year-old Essex firm, famed for its engineering expertise on road and track, was due to receive an injection of cash from a new investor earlier this year, but Covid-19 interrupted the deal. It's now back on the market, with hopes for a quick turnaround so it can return to pre-lockdown form.' Their press release (which was quoted by Moneyseeker) regarding the appointment of KPMG is dated 17 Aug 2020. Andrew Williams: "We are owned by a venture capital business who have decided to realise their part of their investment in the group. We have appointed KPMG to find the right new investor to assist management in realising our current plans." |
