Fingers crossed that the authorities will allow us to hear it in person sometime next year, an engine like that needs to be powering a car through the corners of a race track to sound at it's best. A tiger growling in a cage does not sound as good as one in the forest.

Frankly we really don't give a damm. Racing to us is performance art.
We've built an amazing car. We have two entries. Our car will be very fast. If we don't get a fair chance we' won't continue in that series. We'll simply find one where we are. Our performance art is understood by our customers. We have a nice backlog. We'll become very profitable. We'll race where we want to and enjoy the journey. |

Are they really flat-plane? AM and Merc certainly sound like they're cross-plane. BMW appears to have no sound at all

All GTE V8s are twin turbo flat plane. The GT3 Aston keeps the crossplane crank (probably due to homologation reasons). Also, the GT3 Mercedes-AMG GT still uses the NA 6.2 liter V8 from the SLS-AMG.
The top road going version of the AMG GT uses a flatplane crank, like the Aston Martin GTE does, but with about an extra 200+bhp. |
