Poor Pitiful Dario
While watching the qualifying last night, it occurred to me that Dario Crapwagon has turned into a pitiful object. Does it seem to anyone else that he has stepped into the kitchen and cannot stand the heat, ,as it were?
It also seems odd to me that Dario can slander the Simple Green Safety Team and say his car is a "bucket of " and blame the team for giving him said car,and publically vilify CART, and nobody apparently thinks of fining him $50,000 or slapping a gag order on him. Of course hearing him whine and watching him drive like an amateur is marginally amusing, but I wonder why this kind of behaviour is suddenly becoming his signature. |

Liz,
He's just trying to fit in early with the crash-fest that is Invisible Racing. Can't help but laugh at his pathetic attempts at qualifying. |

He said "the [t] car is a bucket of and I don't know how anybody expects me to race when they give me a car like that." The comments about the Simple Green Safety Team, and the marshalls, were made post-Miami, in which he said that they deliberately left him in harms way because he's going to the Other League next year [refuted here by a marshall who was on the scene], and he was interviewed on Speed Channel opining that CART was dead.

Maybe someone should ask Mrs. Zanardi of the worth of the Simple Green Safety Team. I am seriously disappointed.

Liz, you're headed for an ulcer over all this. I missed all this on TV, but my impression of Dario throughout this season has been favorable. I'm sure that there are business reasons for him transferring to the IRL (I won't use the demeaning term Invisibles here), and I'm surmising that his apparent change in attitude that you witnessed on TV is probably frustration of the moment, together with an expected reaction that he is exhibiting due to the pressure from fans who are unhappy with his leaving. We'll get over it. Meanwhile, calling him "Dario Crapwagon" is not helping you or anyone else in this forum.

Anyway, back to the subject, I like watching Dario sweat. I don't dislike him but I don't think he's a 'champion' driver like Da Matta, Zanardi, Montoya, De Ferran either. Quote:

Dario's t-car apparently blew 3 clutches in 6 laps. In my opinion, ANYONE would have reason to complain with that...

To Snout:
Sounds like a fair deal...I'm having a cold one as I write this.To be honest,my heart is still in Champs and some of my posts have been of a "devils advocate" nature to provoke a response.I guess when HONDA and Toyota pulled out,I became disgruntled. But too,I enjoy watching IRL.In my part of the world,it has become quite popular. At any rate,I'm looking forward to the 300. No hard feelings here..CHEERS! |

Well I'll give him credit, he's done well for the 4th Row if that's the case. Still a bit of work to do to catch 1 and 4. They were the cream today. To GoFaster: Hope you enjoyed the coldie. Yeah the whole Toyota,Honda,IRL/Cart situation is just a strain no matter who you are. It's certainly made me a bit defensive with Cart. Whether it's Cart,IRL or ride-on mowers, hopefully we'll get to a point where all we discuss is the racing and not so much the politics. Glad we sorted things, Cheers mate |

The clutches were blown in the primary car. He steered the backup car into the wall without any help.
I agree with those who say that sooner or later there is such a thing as "enough" money. I have absolutely nothing to say to people who can't manage to live on $3 million US per year, especially when their wives are making equal or greater salaries. And back when he wasn't a deserter, we used to call him "Dario Speedwagon" so the change in name seemed suitable. Sources say he has now been given a gag order too, so we won't be hearing any more of the kind of talk that gets PT a $50,000 fine no matter if it is caused by frustration or not. ======== That is a gorgeous track and I'm glad they finally removed those cones. The shot of PT's car with all the Cone Dents in the front wing was astonishing. |

And his weekend hasn't gotten any better- he stacked his 'good' car in the warmup.
Apparently with the last clutch that blew, everything was falling apart, and they were lucky not to blow the engine.. |

Wonder if Dario will blame sabotage for his lousy weekend?
Sorry, that was rude. |
