The corvette gets the WeatherTech Merc in the traffic. Clumsy by Engel, or a bit unlucky with the GTPs, but he’s back on the tail now.

It’s going well. Fastest 5.015 so far.

Pretty consistent in the 2:05s. Which is a little faster than the the car was going in the stint before, but a little off the stint before that.

Dixon is driving well, although the laps are a little slower than Bourdais. Slightly hotter, or just nicely doing a good consistent job looking after tires?

That's how it should have been at Daytona too, IMO.

You cheat => you get thrown out, you lose all points, all silverwork, all medals, everything.

So is the strategy for #01 to go two stints on new tires to fly away up front, and now try to eke it out and live on the buffer gained? Almost looks like it.

Not against this. Everyone has to suck up old tires at some point. Keep it safe at the beginning of the race. Do it when it has settled down. As long as you can change lots towards the end fine.

And if you’ve got a nice car that is easy on tires, even better. Let’s watch the pace towards the end of this stint…

He’s pretty much stuck in the 52s at the moment.

If the 60 Shank car wins this race today or any other race for the rest of 2023, even if it is 100% legal which I'm sure it will be. There still will be a very bad taste. I'm cheering for Cadillac and BMW on the GTP end today.

For GTD...would be neat to see the Corvette sweep I think. Right now looks like Risi is leading..suprsingly the 91 Kelly moss Porsche is in 2nd.

Me neither, although I have a memory like sieve. Casagrande was fastest of the car in qualifying.
Still problem solved, they’ve changed drivers now.

I’m annoyed at GT. Top GTDPRO is ahead of the top GTD.

Great tire screeching on microphone in the background there.

Ben Hanley has a massive spin, but does it at the last corner with loads of space. Loses 7s on that lap (relative to the previous lap and the one after).

Wow the amatuer hack driver of the #38 LMP3 car just about pushed Jules Gounon in the 79 Weathertech Mercedes off the road when Gounon was trying to make a pass. They did make side by side contact.

These GTP cars seems to be super sensitive to used tires. It's like they become LMP2s when on used tires.

Couple of things that this influences the race.

Deletraz snuck in before the yellow! That’s worked well. Albuquerque in the car now.
We won’t get to know if the #01 gets really bad tire deg.
