That's what I call commitment!
I know it was just a test but it's interesting how close Sutton's time was to Ingram's at Brands Hatch. I think it's going to be an exciting season but I do share others' concerns that we've lost Dynamics and Shedden this year. It's not a great omen when teams and drivers are increasingly struggling for funding. The whole changing of the guard thing marches on relentlessly as well. Turkington, Chilton and Jelley are about the only pre-2010 drivers left now that I grew up with, I think. |

Good entry, but it could have been even better. If only one or more teams had joined.

Congratulations to Ashley Sutton. Baby has arrived.
I hope this lot aren’t planning anything for this weekend: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/65335724 |

That's a bit unexpected.
Is it just me or does anyone else find it odd that Team Hard's makes no reference to Plowman's long career at Team Dynamics, other than just a very vague "having worked with some of the biggest names in the sport". Is naming a (former) rival team really much of an issue? |

Just throwing this out there having absolutely no factual knowledge about the matter, but is it just possible that, like Dynamic, Plowman is only taking a sabbatical whilst they sort themselves out for whatever they intend to do in the future? So in reality, he is being merely hired out or seconded for a fee from Hard, because, after all, he has no Hondas to engineer as they've gone to One (BTC as was). |

Getting Barry Plowman is definitely a sign of intent from Team HARD. Wasn't Kevin Berry supposed to be joining the team as well for this season?

All of the press releases explicitly say 'for 2023'. |

So far we’ve had a good start to the year. Plenty of the expected teams at the front and some great close racing

Brands Hatch will be on ITV4 from 11.15-18.40 on Sunday 7th May
By my reckoning we'll get 9 live races on TV + maybe highlights of F4 and MINIs during lunch break. BTCC qualifying is 15.25-16.10 on Saturday 6th May so I would imagine the YouTube stream will start at 15.20 and run until 16.20. On Sunday 7th May: 09.00 – 09.30 - Pit Lane Walkabout / Autograph Session 10.00 - Legends Cars Elite Cup with JLM - 10 laps 10.25 - ROKiT F4 British Championship - 20 mins 11.00 - The Vertu Motors MINI CHALLENGE - 20 mins 11.35 - BTCC Pit Lane Opens 11.50 - Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship - 24 laps 12.30 - Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain - 34 laps 13.05 – 13.50 - Lunch Break 13.50 - Legends Cars Elite Cup with JLM - 10 laps 14.15 - BTCC Pit Lane Opens 14.30 - Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship - 24 laps 15.10 - ROKiT F4 British Championship - 20 mins 15.45 - The Vertu Motors MINI CHALLENGE - 20 mins 16.20 - Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain - 34 laps 17.00 - BTCC Pit Lane Opens 17.15 - Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship - 24 laps 17.55 - Legends Cars Elite Cup with JLM - 12 laps |

Good to have more live coverage, would be harder without it. We should be thankful for ITV4
Should be a good one, I am expecting weather to play a part. Especially on the Sunday. Looking forward to seeing the support action and what they fit in. But the BTCC will always be the one to look forward. I enjoy the F4 too, we always get action there |

The BBC reckon wet weather this weekend for most of southern England, a few periods of rain on Saturday (funnily enough the wettest period is when BTCC qualifying is...) and then "light" rain almost all day on Sunday. Should make the racing interesting this weekend!

Full entry list for this weekend has not been released yet, but the BARC have announced there will be 33 Legends on the grid. Very impressive!

Provisional entry list for this weekend. No changes in BTCC 22 MINI JCWs - same field as Donington, minus Sam Smith (get well soon) 20 F4s - largely the same grid as Donington. No Noah Lisle (currently P2 in championship), Sonny Smith appears to have switched from Argenti to JHR. 25 PCCGB - same grid as Donington 32 Legends (although yesterday's BARC press release said 33) |
