Stolen Trailer Found!!!!

What amazing news we had this weekend. After going to pick up our "new" race transporter/camper, we heard from our trailer builder that our bespoke trailer has been found by the police in Aldershot on a "travellers" camp. Basically the police raided the site to move on the travellers and seized 2 trailers and several cars as they suspected they'd been stolen.

All the chassis details had been removed and the police only identified it by calling the axle makers who confirmed that they only made that type of axle for Target Trailers. They called John at Target who confirmed that we had ours stolen in November. Amazing! We have yet to see the trailer so have no idea of the condition yet - we do know that the locks will need replacing and all the equipment inside has gone but excellent news. Got to call the insurers today (who have yet to pay) to decide what happens next - we may have a trailer for sale!

Anyway, what great news - we have obviously been very lucky - it could have been lost forever. Thanks for all the support received on the forum. No need to go searching for it now in the small ads and at race days.

Re: Stolen Trailer Found!!!!

Great stuff.

I still keep an eye open for mine, but without much hope. You've been very lucky, I take it the local motorcycle shop will be selling a few chains shortly.. ;-)

More good news guys. Hubby picked up the trailer yesterday and it's in great condition. Only one lock and the chassis plate need replacing. It feels like Christmas!

Anyway, the trailer is now for sale (in the interim we bought a race transporter/motor home) so if anyone is interested please email me for the spec (louise.kennedy@hp.com). It is a fully loaded trailer which is designed to be slept in. Replacement value is £8,200 so we are looking for about £6,500. Not cheap I know but you have to see the spec to appreciate it.

Makes me realise how lucky we have been. Let's hope this is the start of a great 2003 for us all.
