This list was published on Facebook by Fanswec . They would have found it on the official Le mans site and they say it disappeared very quick because of an error of publication? To be confirmed.

Not sure what to make of this. Apparently it was removed off the site but it doesn't mean it's a definitive list.

There are some interesting things on there like Mike Conway to Rebellion. On the one hand it makes a lot of sense - but on the other if he was a reserve driver would Toyota not need him to be ready?

The Pescarolo reference and the one hybrid Rebellion are completely out of left-field. Porsche (supposedly) have a driver contracted named Frederic - but that aint his surname.

I searched Frederic Lieut, and it seems that there is a big Porsche fan with that name. So I assume that he's the creator of that list. So it is very likely a fake, but well done. If he hadn't put his own name on there, this list might have kept us talking until Thursday.

Conway to Rebellion would make sense, give him P1 experience with a customer and they could pull him out if they want.

However Pesca, and a random name no one has heard of makes that seem less likely.

He and Heidfeld could also be for the team at WEC, wouldn't they?

And that's what makes it so intriguing... that and the fact that it was possibly removed off the official site. Quite bizarre...

It was speculated at Bathurst 12 hour this weekend that Melbourne's Maranello Motorsport has apparently inked a deal to run a new Ferrari 458 under the AF Corse entry... For Mr Lowndes, and maybe Mr Salo!

Another summary...

The selection committee have confirmed that entries will be split evenly between prototypes and GTs, so 28 of each. Until we start mucking about with reserves...

The Nissan ZEOD is included in the proto total, leaving 27 spaces.
We can expect 9 LMP1s: 3 Audis, 2 Toyotas, 2 Porsches, 2 Rebellions.

That leaves 18 LMP2 spaces.
Beetle's comprehensive list, which I am sure he has been maintaining religiously, (post #180 in this thread) names 25 possible entrants, many of which are credible.
Of these, 4 have automatic entries:
OAK Racing x2
Signatech Alpine
Muscle Milk Pickett
The 5th auto entry in LMP2 goes to Team Endurance Challenge for winning LMPC in the ELMS. Not sure what they will do with this.

Assuming the 4 auto entries are taken up, that leaves 14 more spaces for us to argue about until Thursday.

In GT, Beetle's list only names 29 possible entrants for the 28 spaces. Unless anyone else turns up, some of the extra P2s could squeeze in off the reserve list. How many of the more speculative entries will materialise?

My guess at the entry list:

LMP1: Well, not much to discuss about: 3 Audis, 2 Toyotas, 2 Porsches, 2 Rebellion confirmed. There are also reports that the Lotus LMP1 project is still going, and that they want to enter a car full-time for WEC. I expect them to get an entry, but if they don't turn up, they can always put another LMP2 from ELMS in.

So: 3x Audi, 2x Toyota, 2x Porsche, 2x Rebellion, 1x Kodewa/Lotus.
Total: 10 cars

Which leaves 17 LMP2 spots.
WEC entrants will get a guaranteed entry, so 1x KCMG, 1x Alpine, 1x Strakka, 2x Millennium, 2x SMP are very likely. Muscle Milk have already accepted their auto entry, and with the P1 project on-hold, I expect OAK to field two LMP2 cars as well. So 10 spots would be taken. That means seven remain which I expect to go to front-running ELMS cars. My guesses would be Thiriet, Murphy, Race Performance, Jota, Greaves, Morand and Woodard. (Woodard for committing to both ELMS and AsLMS)

GTE Pro is easy again. 2 works Ferraris, Porsches, Astons, Corvettes and Vipers, 1x RAM and 1x Risi.

Which leaves 16 GTE Am cars. I admit, this is not the class I pay most attention to.

Time to throw my hat in the ring, me thinks.

OK, so as Mike said, LMP1, LMP2, and Garage 56 will make up the first 28 entries, whereas GTE-Pro and GTE-Am will make up the other 28.

Starting out from the bare minimum, Audi has confirmed three entries, Toyota has confirmed two, as has Porsche and Rebellion. That's 9, at the very least, for LMP1.

For LMP2, Strakka, SMP, Signatech-Alpine, and Millennium Racing (formerly Delta-ADR and G-Drive) have all confirmed two entries. Additionally, KCMG has announced full-time WEC participation, bringing our list up to 9. Muscle Milk Pickett Racing and OAK are auto-invites, so now we have 11.

Garage 56 brings the total up to 21, so now it's just a decision of which teams look the most attractive. Drawing from previous ELMS announcements...

22. Jota Sport
23. Greaves Motorsport
24. Morand Racing
25. Thiriet by TDS Racing
26. Race Performance
27. Murphy Prototypes
28. Boutsen Ginion Racing

Therefore, I expect a 2nd Greaves entry to be reserve-listed, along with a 2nd Race Performance entry, Tiga, Woodard, Sebastien Loeb, Pegasus, a possible OAK entry, and a few oddball teams not mentioned.

For GTE-Pro, AF Corse, Aston Martin, and Porsche Team Manthey have all but confirmed two entries for each team. Also, RAM Racing will run one GTE-Pro Ferrari. Adding to our total of 7 will be the auto-invite Risi Competizione, two Corvette C7Rs, and two Vipers, bringing the total to 12.

In GTE-Am, two AF Corse Ferraris plus one 8Star Ferrari have been confirmed, along with two factory Aston Martins, and another RAM Racing Ferrari, bringing the class total to 6. Craft AMR and the AsLMS GTC winner, AF Corse, function as the auto-invites. Dempsey and SOFREV-ASP have sent in entry applications, and Proton Competition is all but confirmed. That means our secure total is 11 for GTE-Am, and 23 for GTE overall. But what about the rest?

When playing this game it's best to leave "maybe" entries to the end to avoid confusion. So with only five slots remaining, here goes.

- Larbre: DailySportscar hinted that the ACO put an end to their C7.R GTE-Am lobbying, so does that mean a brand new marque, a GTE-Pro entry with the C7.R, both, or nothing at all?

- IMSA Performance Matmut: French team with decorated Le Mans history. Would be very surprised not to see them back.

- 4th AF Corse entry: Courtesy of the ELMS... might get reserve-listed due to the abundance of AF Corse material, but who knows.

- Krohn Racing: Risi said something about providing assistance to Krohn at Le Mans this year, so it's safe to assume Krohn is at least planning a GTE-Am Ferrari effort for this year.

- 3rd AMR entry: Roald Goethe is taking his car to the ELMS full time... wouldn't be surprised to see a third GTE-Am AMR Vantage by Aston Martin.

- Abu Dhabi Racing: Khaled al Qubaisi is planning something for Le Mans. I'm assuming Aston Martin.

- Crubile Sport/Prospeed: sent in an entry application I believe, but they were reserve-listed last year until the last minute so that might befall them again.

- JMW Motorsport: not sure if GTE-Pro or GTE-Am, but definitely on the radar. But as has become custom, not much from them during the offseason.

So perhaps Crubile/Prospeed, IMSA Matmut, Larbre, Krohn, and Abu Dhabi Racing for the final five?

Impressive job!
Some other GTE-Am competitors AFAIK

-Proton: could run 2 cars besides the well-known Dempsey effort, a full season WEC entry and another for their ELMS runner-up finish last year

-Taisan: The sole 2013 AsLMS GTE full season team, at least 1 Ferrari 458 GTE entry was sent

-AAI Rstrada: Also from AsLMS, with a 2012 widebody RSR in hand and local RUF dealership

-SMP: Their P2 entries should come true, but how about their planned GTE Ferrari effort?

I think we can consider the LMP1 Lotus as confirmed as they have signed Christijan Albers as driver

The words 'Lotus' and 'confirmed' in the same sentence always make me nervous. But I hope you are right. It could give Rebellion something to think about for the first half an hour.
What motor are they rumoured to be running?

I'm just hoping we see a few surprises.

Maybe we can add a Kessel entry to the list after today's ELMS news.

Driving talent and proving you've got an exciting team in the works could be key in getting selected. So basically teams who have got their s**t together rather than speculative entries.

Getting excited now.
