I did say that just a few posts up!
Well the ninth lap will definitely be over before the flag drops, but it sounds like as long as the HTP stays ahead for those 3 minutes then it should be okay. |

Surely it has enough time for a splash now?

I'm not sure 20-25 seconds will do, 30+ is probably better. If I has realised this would happen I would have timed the #4's fuel fill so we could get a better guess.
Still, may as well try to open the gap until the very last moment. We know they can do at least 9 laps, so why not go that far and see... ... but the pit crew have got the fuel rig out ... |

Does look like it'll need a stop then. 55 second gap.

More like 52, #29 held up in Sector 4 and #4 makes up almost exactly 3 seconds.
Edit - Push start from the pits! Only ~5 seconds ahead now, and that may come back to bite them. |

Fastest sectors, crazy moves in traffic, one more lap.
What an end to the race. |

What a last lap that was.
Congratulations for the #4, but both teams will be straight at the stewards' office. Unfortunately this one might not be over just yet. |

Was a bit ambitious on the pass, I thought and the pass was made with contact. It was inevitable, but wish it had been a cleaner move.

For me, that pass was fine. He was far back but was ahead by the time the HTP car turned into the side of him, and he made the corner too.
Amazing race. Absolutely incredible lol. |

Fair enough on the pass but I thought were even at the apex. And 8 wheels corner better than 2. But Hey! Last lap! There was a gap and he took it. Good on him. |

Engel did have to mount the inside kerb but I'd okay the pass. The gap was there and Hoenhadl took too long to close it.
What a race that was. It actually had a little bit (and sometimes a lot of) everything! |

Graham Goodwin @dsceditor
There is a formal protest from @HTPMotorsport over final result #n24h specifically over the contact on the final lap - result in 60-90 mins |

The pass was ambitious but I think it was okay since the 29 didn't even try to defend.
Even if HTP protest, surely their push start will be a factor in the stewards' decision. |

The push from the pits shouldn't matter at all to the stewards in this case. However, Black Falcon should be putting in a counter claim to address the #29's pit exit seeing as HTP have already complained about the pass.

And it'd be worse if BMW hadn't been found out and had the BOP adjusted against them pre-race. We need a be free way of balancing the cars. And this is posted by a guy who wanted the #4 to win. |

Couldn't watch the full race, but I managed to get some of it before the data package ran out...
Hopefully next year I'll be better prepared... |

Everyone who finished ahead of them had works support as well. The top finishing Audis were not even the works "Audi Sport Team ____" cars. The Bentley had a slower fastest lap and ran into trouble but still came out ahead. Even the Audi Race Experience cars finished higher up than the works christened cars. Can't blame those on BOP, they just had a bad race. Glad to see the result stand. Disappointed with the sportsmanship of some of the HTP crew, leaving trophies behind as well as not attending the press conference and all... |

I fell asleep before race end. Gutted right now. Sounds like a cracker of a finish. I hope someone puts the international feed up on YouTube.
