I never knew JAS has already built 6 S2000 Accords since '04. That is pretty impressive for a higly Independent class team?

Italiaracing.net has something about Spanish GT (and F3) as a support race for WTCC in 2006. It's in Italian (and I don't understand it) and Babelfish translation isn't much easier either so I'm not sure what it's all about.

It talks about a new championship to run with WTCC. Although italiaracing.net says that it´s Spanish GT Championship, i can tell it´s a new championship named European GT Master. Five races: Monza 2 April, Magny Cours 30 April, Turkey 24 September, Valencia 8 October and a last race at Montmeló. Spanish F3 will be with WTCC at Magny Cours too.

So Spanish F3 will be with WTCC on 6 races and will also have to on its own (in Spain)?

I didn´t explain it well. Spanish F3 will have just a race with WTCC, Magny Cours.

According to Dutch Eurosport commentators (not a very reliable source):

  • For next season RML will do engine development inhouse. Who are now responsible for the engines (Spiess, Swindon)?
  • Probably Coronel in SEAT Leon of GR Asia in indy championship.
  • Maybe 1 Alfa 159 (a by N.Technology privatly developt car like JAS?) next season. I don't believe this to be honost.

There is a press release about this on the RML website: http://www.rmlmallock.co.uk/NewsStory.aspx?ID=66
Quote:
RML announced today that they are expanding their comprehensive in-house capabilities with the addition of an engine facility at their headquarters in Wellingborough, UK. The new facility will be utilised on a range of RML motorsport and automotive projects to include the Chevrolet World Touring Car programme.

The facility will be headed by Arnaud Martin who joins RML after a six year career with Cosworth Racing.

RML Group Chief Executive Ray Mallock commented: "We are developing this capability to give RML greater control of its various motorsport and automotive engineering projects. It brings in-house the final element of the performance equation enabling us to deliver the most effective solutions both on and off track. It also offers us cost benefits and improved efficiency."

RML will continue to work with current engine partners Swindon Racing Engines and Engine Developments on specific ongoing projects.

Chevrolet Lacetti Cup or Chevrolet Lacetti's entered in national touring car championships in UK, Italy, France and Germany?

Or do I read this Italiaracing.net (translated with Babelfish) article wrong?

The WTCC Lacetti's are right hand drive, but according the GM Media website there is at least also 1 left hand drive version.

Dacia will have a S 2000 rally car with a quite similiar regulatoins, expect 4WD of course (for example, Fiat GrandePunto S 2000 has engine from Alfa Romeo 156). So it won't be very expensive to make a racing version of Dacia.

I don't think that's a problem as long as they call it Nubira instead of Lacetti. Sitting on grand stand you can't be sure where the driver sits but you still can see the car you are about to buy winning the race.

I'm not sure the LHD/RHD badging actually matters. For some years Vauxhall ran a LHD Vectra in the BTCC even though it was impossible to buy such a car.

For the WTCC there is some interest from CiBiEmme in running a pair of Focus in order to help Hotfiel with the development.
Hotfiel & Ford Motorsport can use some help. If they make no progress it makes (IMO) no sense to race as factory team in WTCC next season. Has CiBiEmme experience in developing cars? Isn't CiBiEmme racing in V8 Superstars touring car championship?

And maybe Adrian VÃ*lles could replace Garcia at Italy-Spain.
Garcia races an Aston Martin in FIA GT this weekend. He and his team mate Bouchet will start from pole. Garcia in FIA GT instead of WTCC next season?

Is BMW Italy-Spain (ROAL Motorsport) confirmed for next season?

Any news about Chevrolet for next season?

CiBiEmme developed all the BMWs in Italy during the '90, and it was the BMW Italia official team. They didn't race in V8 Superstars this year.

On the same article it was said that Zanardi is already confirmed with ROAL and since they are looking for a Spanish driver, I think they will stay in WTCC.

About V8 Superstars I was confused with Bigazzi.
