...and for those who like their aircraft big and loud, the Vulcan is back in the air. No idea if they plan to display at BGP or not, but it would be great if they could

Not in the timetable so i would say it's pretty unlikely.

Would be nice to think so. I really hope they can give us a fly-past at least one day. We can live in hope.

TVOC have been adamant that no one is to advertise its appearance other than themselves to avoid the disappointments of last year. Not even Waddington were allowed to mention it until the last minute. Its more of a hope than anything, but if it can make Waddo and Goodwood then as long as it's serviceable and conditions are right it must make an appearance....pleeeeease?!

The Vulcan spent the winter at RAF Lyneham. Not sure if still there but will try to find out.

Having seen the vulcan (again) at FOS, and heard the Typhoon at Oulton, I think the Typhoon on afterburner was louder - I was on the verge of having to stick my fingers in my ears for that....admittadly, the Typhoon was a bit closer, but not all that much. I'm sure Mandy will tell me I'm wrong though....

Hmm, it was in the programme for FOS, although not actually on the timetable shown on the big screens on the day...

Hopefully none of you are taking the comfy option, rather than camping? The Premier Inn aka Green Man appears to be suddenly unavailable!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/n...e/10517959.stm

shows it to have been gutted by fire overnight.

No doubt it will affect some F1GP folk, but will also knock on to formula Student next week.

My wife was having dinner in the Green Man at the time and had to be evacuated. It was the first time she had seen a building fire in "real life" and was quite shocked.

It looks like it will be out of action for some time.

Was just staying there last weekend for the BRSCC meeting (mechanicing) with the heat inside the hotel then it probably self combusted!

Pretty scary to think I've stayed there so soon before a massive fire.

Having worked alongside the Typhoon (and Mandy) for many years (although now living in the relative peace of the Heathrow Glide Path) I have to agree that the Typhoon on afterburner is indeed louder than the Vulcan but it's no where near as impressive a sight!
