Updated campsite policy at http://www.msaevents.co.uk/bgpmarshals.php
Eminently sensible. If you want to use your car over the weekend you will be permitted to do one drop of kit then it goes in car park 26. Everyone else must leave cars in situ on their pitch until Sunday afternoon. I am seriously considering bringing a sledge so if I have to move anything big or heavy I can... |

That does of course presuppose that you can get your car/van etc. onto and off the pitch...

Very sensible policy - considering parking up in 26 for the weekend and walking the tent/kit through.

If car park 26 is so good why don't all the motor homes and caravans stay there?
Anyone got any photos of the camp site entrance today? How bad is it now? |

on a serious note, an update from one of my Facebook Marshals Mafia is that it's currently dry, the tent is up, the beer is out and while the campsite isn't in the best of shape, there's a tractor there ready to lend assistance!
From the pic, it's not as bad as I'd pictured it. |

From photos from a friend already on site it's looking similar around the H/I/J low numbers. Grass damp, ground soft but measures in place to keep it that way rather than turning into a mudbath

OK, H and Faz are on row F, somewhere near the top. I feel sorry for those on slots where it slopes. Had to use all my cross country driving skills taught in the Army to get out a few years ago!

I'm told that some aggregate has been put down in the entrance in an attempt to improve things but still no sign of any tracking.
The area in front of the toilets/showers is apparently a complete bog so wellies are needed. |

[QUOTE= Becketts is indeed very good for marvelling at grip levels and speed of direction change (and come say hello to us at Becketts Outside). New banking down at Vale is good as well - view from out of Chapel, round Stowe and through Club.[/QUOTE]

Morning from N28. Bright sunshine and warm but still damp underfoot.
Those with caravans, expect to be towed in. The ground is not strong enough for you to be dragging your caravans across it. Those with tents, as long as you avoid spinning your wheels and are careful about it, then you should be OK. They are running a no vehicle movement policy at present, in that you can drive to your pitch but you stay there. No driving to the toilets, water collection point, other part of the site. If you have need to leave the site, you may be asked to leave your car outside in the car park. Other than that, all looks reasonably OK. |

Seems OK at T25 too. The access paths are a little torn up but the ground is fairly solid under foot and (most) people are driving to their plots unaided!

If anyone is on their way. The entry to rows f and g is impassable. Everyone that's tried has had to be towed, best to find another way in.

I think a long trek from the outside carpark, laden with gear, to my plot is looking the better option now.

We're here, row D/E is close to being impassable around pitch 10.
it would be nice if people didn't drive across and churn up others pitches, one of ours is quite badly chewed up |

All good at R27. A little slippy on the roadway across the top, but not too bad. Seen one car/'van being towed by the tractor that's roaming around. Been really warm today, and maybe the worst bits will dry up / solidify a little. Have a good 'un everybody

Has anyone got a contact number for chief marshal or other alternative official who's on site? As I've had to withdraw through illness, MSA Events want my guest passes returning before the GP - have said I can get them to someone on the campsite, but obviously not through the post because there's no recorded post service from a swimming pool in the middle of a campsite. My guest has been re-located thanks to some friends.
Any help would be appreciated - thanks. |
