Thought it was the 16 car that 'fessed up. 5 is essentially out of the running, now 35 laps down in the upper 30 positions.
The last two hours have actually been interesting to watch. DPi gaps for some reason have kept me awake when I usually doze off prior to midnight for all endurance races. 48 Cadillac lost about 20-25 seconds relative to its competitors over two stints...Same driver both stints..but let's make all the headlines about his participation. Not that I could have done any better, but losing that kind of time in such a competitive field is not exactly something to hang your hat on. |

My local Roku provider or however that works .... dropped NBCSN. I bought some Passes just to be able to watch the stuff on Roku, on my TV, without commercials ..... and got stabbed in the back. Oh, well.

NBC is trying to attract new fans, mostly existing racing fans, thinking some NASCAR or IndyCar fans might be watching to see their favorite drivers. Unfortunately that has never worked .... and is based on the assumption that fans Don't like racing and only like drivers. Sports car racing in the US has a small but exceedingly dedicated fan base, which grows organically and very slowly, a generation at a time, as some kids go tot races with parents and don't like it but some do; some bring friends, and some like it and some do. Not many people in TV seem to realize that the cars are the stars and people want to see cars on track---so many different cars, so many miles of track, and people will watch that endlessly, but the people actually directing the broadcast don't like sports car racing .... so to them it is a boring sport they need to make "broadly attractive" by creating "personalities" and "rivalries" and all that pro-wrestling BS. |

I awoke from a power nap a little while ago and it's been nice to see some green flag racing.
IMSA radio will be on the call until 6 AM for us NBC 'fans'. Maybe I'll stay awake a little longer. Oh wait, there's still some bourbon over here.... |

edit: Actually that would be 1/4 way from Mars. ----- Would anyone who saw Petit agree that at just past halfway; having Ricky Taylor ahead of you is a safety thang? Last edited by belt driven; 31 Jan 2021 at 09:09. |

Does the #31 have a problem? I’m not sure if it’s the car or the camera but the onboard sounds awful, like it’s got an exhaust issue or something

It was mentioned quite some time ago that they might have some kind of issue that is causing them to be off pace so I'm not 100% sure that's an engine issue or not.

Do the DPi's change brakes in 24H races or did the #10 car had a brake issue? Looked like their were fidling with the brakes for some time?

The evil BMW is still dogging the Vettes .... Risi is running but well off the pace. I can tolerate a Corvette win .... but I don't want that particular VMW anywhere near the podium .... and I almost always want Risi to win.

No concerns in the pit lane for Conway, the next few laps when Van der Zende rejoins should tell us.

The 2 Corvettes in GTLM are metronomic and so economical it would seem.
