I have in the last weeks a lot of work for my study and not so many time for EuroBOSS.
For this purpose comes next monday a further preliminary examination, therefore I can unfortunately not fly to Ronda.

Sorry, I have also no current entry list and no interesting news, but I have one interesting rumour!
The rumour says that the Renault F1 team may have this weekend a car at the track for some promotional film, and that maybe Alonso will be there!
It is a rumour!!!!

I think you must wait for the official informations after the race weekend...

Alonso will be there but i'm not aware of him doing any driving. In case people didn't realise the meeting is not open to the general public.

I think the event is open on day for the local public (maybe only with special guest tickets)!
But yes, I mean it is not really a spectators-event, is more a big EuroBOSS season final party for drivers, sponsors, supporters etc., with only EB races, barbecue, music and so on...

Not impressed with this.Race meeting not open to the public. As of now I shall regard this as a private club for 'gentleman?' drivers and will take no further interest.

Great. Then why not find an alternative venue? Sorry this can no longer be taken seriously as a championship if it books a round at a test track not yet licenced and insured for spectators?
And I only discover this yesterday.Who would I sue if I had already booked a flight and/or accomodation?

sorry, i think i've missed the point. what's wrong with a championship entirely funded by the drivers and their sponsors wanting to have an event entirely for the drivers and sponsors at a track designed entirely for drivers and sponsors?

The Ronda Circuit had a FIA inspection last week which it passed and is now licensed.

Why would anyone want to sponsor an event or a car appearing in said event that no-one else was going to see?
I would like to see EuroBOSS become a series run entirely on street or city centre park circuits.

I'm guessing the aforementioned sponsors would have been aware of the calander when they signed up, so I guess they're free to spend their money where they see fit. Also, it is possible that if a sponsor wishes to use EuroBOSS (or indeed any other series) for corporate hospitality as opposed to convincing a spectator to purchase a product or service, then such a meeting as Ronda could be more desirable for the timing and length of races can be altered to suit the sponsors needs, plus other things can be arranged such as rides around the circuit can be organised without risk of delay/cancelation bacause of events in other races or upsetting paying spectators (e.g. Brands DTM).

The majority of the drivers in Euroboss are enthusiasts who have a little help but mainly prepare there own car and spend there own money.

to be honest, from a personal point of view, if i had that sort of money i would absolutely be more interested in taking part in a championship that had such a round. it sounds like a great idea, well done to whoever thought of it!

One point not mentioned is that there is no mention on the Euroboss website that this is a 'closed' event. Wonder how many people will turn up anyway?
Sounds like a worse PR disaster than the Red Bull 'air race' that was banned to people not in cars.
Maybe this is the shape of the future-no point in circuits building stands which sit empty exept for F1,or fencesand barriers.

Do you have *any* idea how much that would cost?

Private venues make much more sense for something like EuroBOSS.

Rob29 there would be a reluctance to race the cars on the street circuits not just the cost but the potential very expensive damage to the cars.

But then how many people go to the 'open' events? I suspect that the bulk of any paying spectators at these events are enthusiasts, which as Bella states will probably know that Ronda doesn't allow spectators. Also the EuroBOSS website (as far as I can tell) makes no statement on tickets for any of their races, so they can hardly be accused of publishing missleading information.

Well I thought I was an enthusiast as I have been following the sport since 1955,and I did not know that.AFAIK they have never held a race meeting.I think that most people would asume that an event claiming to be an International series would be open to the public?
Re previous post; Historic racing on street circuits works well in Monaco,Pau,Porto,Anguleme,Copenhagen, etc. I enjoyed watching Lorina McLaughlin hurling her McLaren M23 through Casino Square last May
Suggest this thread be moved to the Historic racing forum?

Hi Rob29, I think this is more a joke from you... or?!

btw. we are still work on next years race calendar, but what I can say at the moment is, we have a plan with eight (double header) races in six european countrys and all are very good, high level motorsport events...

Some "traditional" and some new ones!

Sorry, but I have at the moment not the complete results from our last race. I was unfortunately not in Ronda, because I had to write a further preliminary examination for my study.

The first news...
Klaas Zwart won both races (no surprise). Tony Hansford won the first race in the Masters class and Henk de Boer the 2nd!
Henk is EuroBOSS Masters champion and Klass EuroBOSS champion 2006!

It seems to have been very active on here in the last week or so about the whys and whatevers of the meeting at Ronda.
I am not really sure what Robs point is, there were spectators at the racing on Sunday and a temporary grandstand had been erected to facilitate this.
The circuit facilities are fantastic and put to shame so many "traditional" locations. It was a tremendous end to a great chamiponship this year and the location was both fitting and apt.
On Saturday Fernando Alonso was at the circuit for a few hours. This was a private visit for one of his sponsors and he did many laps in a road car. Fantastic to watch, he was also extremely approachable and relaxed.
Those of you that want to knock this venue, should really go and take a look, it is truly outstanding and Klass should be very proud of what he has created. I look forward to returning next year.
