They haven't said exactly what the cause of the failures was, but it does seem strange that the very reliable engine has all the sudden become unreliable. It makes it seem like some change had a negative impact. Is it an internal engine issue? or the new bodywork package somehow impacting the engine? Not sure if we will find out.

I'll remove the pre-race stuff, but here is the build-up "hourly" positions. Please imagine the Cult playing.

And if interested, here is all sessions from Le Mans week top speeds and also with the test day combined.
FWIW in all those sessions (including test day) there have been 10,126 laps. |

Fantastic pace from LMP1 NH.
I guess we could be in for a good race at least in the first couple of laps. Sadly even Rebellion seems like it will find it hard to make it to the end. I just hope that SMP and Rebellion will not be slowed down by fresh EOT, ACO can do it any time before the race, right? |

I feel for Pat Long. His unbroken start record since 2004 will be broken through no fault of his own.

During the qualifying coverage I heard that ART is behind the SMP Racing LMP1 effort which was new to me. Was that the case last year already?
Second question: Why is this the last outing for the Dragonspeed BR1? Also, any background about why exactly ByKolles swapped the Nissan engine for the Gibson? |

I believe Kolles was blowing up/breaking engines, Nissan didn't want to make a couple changes to help it run as a rear engine, so they went with an engine that has proved itself reliable. Well maybe not the upgraded unit in the Rebellions so far. |

Rumors on Twitter about a disqualification of Toyota Gazoo Racing, even Rebellion tweeted it! Is this Fakennews or has anyone any more insight into that? *EDIT* Rebellion removed that tweet! Very strange, I wonder what's going on. |

Pretty sure it's fake. But I wouldn't mind being wrong.

*EDIT* New tweet out by Rebellion Racing Twitter confirming that their tweet was based on a misunderstanding. Very unprofessional! Last edited by villeneuve; 14 Jun 2019 at 12:15. |

Most people online consider the original message from Rebellion to be basically a strange joke on their part.

There have been a whole bunch of stewards' decisions published though which had some laptimes for the Toyotas deleted due to fuel flow or ERS limit violations/glitches, as well as laptimes in GTE deleted due to overrev/overboost moments.
