Deepest apologies, that was our oil - the M3 block exploded almost instantly with no warning. We pulled off immediately.

Glad to report the driver of the car was our cheif mechanic Brian, and he walked away with only injured pride. All praise to the integrity of the TVR.

So we got Del to blame for this one - knew you could not trust those welsh

Ah, now then boyo !! it was actually, the owner, Carolyn Barker who was driving. She was very upset that she caused mayhem when the engine let go.

I was even more upset that I still haven't driven a race car on a circuit since the Willhire.....on Thursday the 911GTR broke a second gearbox before I could do a lap, the replacement GT3 we organised broke an engine in the workshop friday night and the M3 I managed to cadge a ride in exploded mightily after a half decent qualifying lap.

Oh yeah, and 3 sponsors flew into East Midlands to watch me......not good.

One potential sin: I do recall recently describing James Tucker in a press release as a "my fellow Canadian racing driver".

I have seen his passport so that bit is right !!

Here's Brian minutes later. A bit muddy, rushing around getting the TVR ready to go out again.

I can't find anything on the new EERC site about the Silverstone 24 hours next year. Can someone help with any info, such as Dates, Early entries, Number of cars to start Etc, or has the idea been put on the back burner ? I hope not, as it seems a great idea.

Far from it from what I beleive. I sure as soon as Brands Hatch is out of the way then work will commence on info for next year. There used to be info on the the site. I will have a look through my documents to see if I have any info. From memory I think it it over 17/18/19 September 2005 and will be sponsored by Willhire again.

I have a question. The site mentions that class 1 will be GT Cup class cars. Is this correct , or should it be NGT class cars such as the Corvette and TVR that raced in the Open event at Donnington. I hope the latter, as Cup class cars are good but NGT are obviously better. However, maybe you run the risk of having 1 or 2 cars only in Class 1, as they are obviously more expensive to run, and the choice of series competing with Britcar would include British GT, FIA GT, LMES, etc.
