that would make sense- if this was just a straightforward lease deal, and not one involving any kind of politics around petrol/diesel equivalency, then I can't imagine Audi are too impressed with their experience of running a customer engine programme- a deal done for either 5 or 6 LMS races plus Le Mans, which ended up as 1 LMS race, Le Mans and a whole lot of courtroom wrangling over ownership of the car.
I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't left Audi with the feeling that running a customer programme is more hassle than it's worth.....
