I was hoping they'd possibly use the Scirocco, I guess not

I know it's only an RC model, but is having Jackson on one side and Hollamby on the other suggesting two Golf's next year?

I've seen some straw clutching before but making driver predictions based on a random toys is taking it to a new level.

@Craner and @redshoes: Shaun Hollamby has been calling this model built in conjunction with AmD the 2013 BTCC NGTC car on Twitter and Facebook. I appreciate though that Shaun has a sense of humour so this could just be a bit of fun

I personally hope it is a bit of fun: not a fan of the Golf as a road car. Too dull!

@Craner @Redshoes
It was a suggestion (or a thought). Nothing more, nothing less, no need to take it seriously...

Ah, ok fair enough! Didn't realise it was an identical model to that one.

it is the Golf24, and it's available as a kit, the guy who's painted this one also did the model that AmD gave away last year.

Scirocco can't be used in the BTCC, it's a 2 door.

Support race wise, anyone know whether the Clio's will stay. I think they may switch promoters and stay but there is supposed to be an announcement at Brands and I had thought it would have been today due to the timing of it...

There is a new car for 2014 so next year will be the last season of the current chassis. Hope it stays, the numbers have been good this season after some dire times in 2010 and improvements in 2011.

Only driver on the grid that genuinely wouldn't be missed at all. Is it just Chris leaving or E.S. Racing too?

not surprised if the rumours I've read from other racing drivers are true, it's been an expensive season for him and the company cards have taken a hammering!

Like many others I ridiculed Chris before the start of this year about his two car team. He's had me take an ample dose if humble pie with a remarkable performance on a shoestring. Without ES, we wouldn't have seen Dave Newsham's great results... and Chris has proven to be an enthusiastic (if a bit accident prone) gentleman racer living the dream. I'll be sorry to see Chris and ES go, but can understand their reasons why.
