Ellmau should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Sponsoring is hard to get from Dutch companies as well. And ofcourse it's even harder to get sponsorship from a Dutch company to race in Sweden, eventhough VDL from Eindhoven is sponsoring a privateer car in STCC. But do drivers of those calibers fail to get seats over sponsoring? I doubt it.

That's more down to politics than to money I can tell you.

Well, Im listening, so do tell me
Did I miss the important rumours of what was going on behind the scenes?

I was under the impression that seat/vw just was/is running things a bit stupidly, with every car belonging to a "country" who them selves picked their own driver. Since "Sweden" didnt enter a car 2007 (low on budget) there was no "place" for Rydell. Same could be said about Coronel, which never seems to get a shot at a real seat drive. Im sure if either of these two drivers had been in a factory seat last year, Seat wouldn't have lost the manufacturer title.

Well, that had nothing to do with Swedish companies had it? Huisman was left out when WCR's main sponsor wanted two Swedish drivers (which I'm quite amazed by; surely they would be getting more exposure with Huisman), and as Flash wasn't going to change their lineup either Huisman as a BMW connected driver really didn't have anywhere to go.

Rumors in holland say Coronel and Seat NL have offered Seat Sport a large sum of money (twice what Rydell/Seat SE payed) to get Coronel in a factory car, yet they refused and whiped him off with the petrol car he's driving now.

Really sad about Coronel, I'm sure he would be a serious WDC contender with a proper car. The amounts of times he has beaten most of the factory Seats in a race is almost embarrassing... insane to not pick up such a driver IMO.

Why BMW 130 Cup shouldn't exist? It's one hell of racing IMO, saw it, felt it, loved it.

AFAIK, Tom Coronel is one of the richest kids in WTCC garden, so I think it's just up to SEAT or any other Manufacturer to 'sell' him factory backing. I am surprised too he didn't get support, I don't want to argue, but he is better that most of SEAT drivers, and only them, he is potential for a championship shot. I still rate him high. I met him 10 years ago, and year by year he is better and better, I'll risk and predict he is the best Dutchy of last 10 years (Verstappen inc.). Hope he can grab some sort of factory backing next year.

Duncan Huisman in STCC, would be interesting?! Keep us updated if you know smt.

Because its a joke at the moment with a field of only 11 cars and a Wheel of Fortune to decide the grid for race 2 (not kidding there).

Tim, Duncan, various other good drivers who's talent is being 'wasted' there. Don't get me wrong, the cars are nice and the racing is good. But when you can't find cars to fill a grid you just shouldn't push a series through, that does more damage than good.

Almost time for 1st race and still now news on the broadcast? I've been searching SVT's website without results...

I also hope there will be photo coverage of the two remaining tests

What news? The race starts as usual at 15.00 and it will be broadcasted live on SVT24.

Photo coverage will of course be available from the test

Oofff. Are they (mean Flash Eng.) ready for championship race?! ;-) ;-P
Bit odd... what's wrong with Pole Star? In today's financial climate I'd say they lack budget, but they're backed by Volvo Motorsport, aren't they? Technical vows?

Ok, so STCC.se writes that 22 cars have registered, but they wont tell which ones it is, so I thought I'd write down what my guess is how the feild will look like.

I belive both Smetsky and Lvov have registred even tho they are likely to share the 2nd KMS Audi so we wont see them on the track at the same time, but they have to register seperetly, still listed them as possibly running Accords in a few rounds too, maybe Meissner has heard something new about this?

Add to that possibly the 2 SEATs from DTC that might do a one off somewhere, who knows, I assume they havent registered tho.

But this is just my 2 cents, dont take my word on it, I guess we wont really know for sure untill we see the cars roll out next weekend.

Damn it, another car ruined by those ugly pointed fender extensions. Seriously dissapointed here, the test-cars so far looked fine but they completely screwed up the design of the car with those ugly fenders. Boo you Volvo, boo you.

PS: Guess the sound makes up for it, that car sounds FENOMENAL!
